Thanks Reg for the bottle. I really like this! Coffee nose with some chocolate. Great flavors of chocolates and toasty biscuits. Interesting balance of sweets and bitters, with the sweetness coming out on top.. Very nice palate, smooth and creamy.
Good finish. Going to look for more of this!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown-almost black with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and milk. Flavor is clearly chocolate with some roasted malt, vanilla, and milk. A very enjoyable stout for the price.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle. A black beer that has a dark tan head that is rich and thick. Nice lacing. Chocolate in the nose with roasted notes. Big chewey chocolate is tasted. Hops are tasted underneath and they are citrus and floral. There is also some grass and berries. Alcohol is barely tasted but there is warming. The berries and chocolate were highlighted in the finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz. bottle purchased at Sunflower Market, Tempe, AZ. Pour is black and thick. Moderate tan head, that diminishes without swirling. Little carbonation. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate, with sweet cream increasing as ale nears ambient temperature. Flavor is wonderful chocolate and just enough sweet cream. Finish is dark bitter chocolate, with some coffee notes. Very nice ale.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Head is initially small, frothy, brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is nearly opaque black (flashlight tested).
Aroma is lightly malty (chocolate), with a light note of vanilla.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
It’s a pretty amazing feat to make a beer this dark with so little aroma. Honestly, there is almost nothing whatsoever in the nose. Stouts are usually pretty bold with chocolate and roast and vanilla, just kinda for "free" it would seem, but man alive...I had to reach just to get the chocolate. I mean, hey, it doesn’t smell *bad*, but I sure would like it to smell like *something*. Quite sweet in the mouth with very little to balance, but not undrinkable. Nice mouthfeel though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Poured a black color with an average to large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy dark chocolate malt aroma. Medium to heavy dark sweet chocolate flavor with a medium to heavy sweet chocolate finish of moderate duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a good rich sweet beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle, shared with Nova. Nice, thin / minimal brown head. Black color. Bit of lace. Dissappointgly, not enough chocolate flavor to honestly call itself a chocolate stout (never mind an "imperial" chocolate). Nice, lighter carbonation. Drier texture. Mild bitter sweet taste, but the general stoutiness is surprisingly light
