Dark brown almost black color, tiny bit of mocha head that dissipates. Smells of chocolate, malty, a little roastiness, caramel, a slight earthy funk. Taste is a little lacking in definition. Not a lot of flavor pops out. A slightly sweet chocolate taste, lactic, some roasted hop bitter, some saltiness. Ends with a dull bitter, no sweetness, some roast. Maybe some coffee tones in the middle. Mild carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Overall lacks any definitive character, but not necessarily a bad beer, just not as bold as I was expecting. Alcohol is tame, and the slight roasted flavors is all it's got going, even the sweetness of the chocolate taste is very subtle. Not too impressed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas 2013 the beer gods gave to me . . . one sweet stout. Pours a dark black color with a caramel color big foam head. Heavy aroma of vanilla, cream, and roast, with notes of chocolate and caramel underneath. Makes you want to dive in. Thick, creamy roasty taste, with hints of vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. Very smooth. Really tasty.

On tap at Amatos last May. It’s an imperial cream stout made with Colorado Rocky Mountain Chocolate. Overall a big sweet chocolate malt bomb with the alcohol hidden and a touch of root beer. Very tasty.

Pours a near-black with minimal chocolate covered head that disappears quickly, leaving no lacing. A surprisingly muted aroma of roasted chocolate malts with coffee tones. The flavour is more robust, with a nice blend of chocolate milky creaminess and coffee grounds' bitterness in the finish. Roasted dark and chocolate malt tones in the body transition nicely from caramel sweetness to hop bitterness. There's enough dark and milk chocolate flavours to suit the name without being cloying. Mouthfeel is oily, as befitting the 7.2% ABV, but increased carbonation would help my personal enjoyment of this bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with miniscule tan head. Dark, roasted coffee notes with deep chocolate flavor, though more subtle than I expected. Notes of toffee and caramel give the beer a creamy feel.

Pours a deep black color with a huge, creamy tan head. Aroma has a lot of chocolate both in the form of chocolate malt and dark chocolate candy. Late notes of red wine and roasted malt are very clear at the end. Flavor starts of with a very strong red wine flavor and I’m not 100% sure why. Light chocolate flavors come in later in the tasting to overtake the wine but it still lingers on my palate till the end. Body is okay with enough body to hold the hefty flavors and the carbonation is low making it feel a bit on the oily side. Overall an okay beer. Just a touch bit sweet for my tastes.

Rated on 11-10-2013 (Bottle) When poured, this beer forms a small tan head with a long retention, opaque dark brown body and spotty amounts of lacing. The Aroma is sweet, malty, chocolate, lightly roasty and hint of burnt coffee. The Taste is sweet, lightly bitter, malty, chocolate, lightly roasty, and hints of burnt coffee. The Palate is smooth, watery and thin. This beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer is too thin and watery for the style, the ABV is hidden and this beer is almost too easy to drink due to the weak texture. It just needs more flavor to do it justice for the style.
