Pretty boring. Black. Frothy tan head. Weak milky cocoa aroma and flavor. I guess by itself its not that bad but in a sea of 1000s of beers I can think of too many others I’d rather drink.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle thanks to my friend Tony in a case bottle swap. Pours black with a slight tan head. Roasty aroma, dark chocolate and coffee. Bitter sweet taste with a slightly dry aftertaste for a cream stout. Lacing falls down the glass as it empties. Thicker than usual mouth feel for Breckenridge brews.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep dark brown coloured body with a muddy and ruby tint at the bottom and a thinnish, one centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of earth, roasted malt, cream, caramel and tons of dough and yeast. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong creamy and milky flavour with a lot of earth and caramel notes, some light roasted malt and egg flavour and a hint of vanilla - but a lot of yeast still. Aftertaste shows a lot of sugars and body with a nice subdued cherry and light fruit flavour. Overall, this is a nice beer and all about the body and creamy milky flavour - which shows well, if you can get past the oblique yeastie and bread flavour/smell. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 02-April-2013 for US$2.69 sampled at home in Washington on 16-April-2013.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours almost black with a small, but dense and lasting tan head. The nose has an unusual fruity smell, reminiscent of chocolate covered raisins. Rich and chocolately with a slight metallic note that transitions into a very flinty mineral note. That earthy flint note and a little roast comes out in the nose as the beer warms as well. Full bodied and rich on the tongue with a slightly dry, chalky finish. Tasty.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark brown with a finger and a half of beige head. The head retains for quite some time. The nose is mildly roasty. The consistency is creamy and the flavor includes mild chocolate notes. The finish is slightly astringent and includes a note of alcohol presence which is odd considering that this is a relatively low ABV imperial.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aromas of coffee, milk chocolate, some cherry, and very subtle peppermint. Black-brown with ruby highlights, and a fully lasting, satiny, tan head. Earthy, roasty, savory, and barely at all sweet. Light-medium bodied, carbonation is pretty low, very smooth, and finishes with dry, roasty malts, and slight hop bitterness.
