Bottle. 2/15/13. Pours dark brown-black with a fast to fade light brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, hints of dark fruit, sweet and just a bit spicy. Taste is nice; creamy, smooth, brown sugar, chocolate, roast, some coffee. Malt for days with very little bitterness; not many IBUs here. Tastes even more mild than the 7.2% ABV. This I like this. Smooth mouth feel but with a coating sensation. Very little lacing. Well crafted.

12 oz. bottle poured into shaker. Deep cola color with a respectable fizzy brown head with low retention and lacing. Aroma seems fainter than it should be, but possesses the typical malty chocolate and coffee notes you’d expect from this type of brew. Flavor is sweet with pronounced chocolate and molasses character, but not cloying. Finish has some coffee bitterness with mild alcohol heat. This was ok, but feels a bit one-dimensional.

Poured into a tulip class. The head took a few secs to develop but was very creamy looking with tight bubbling. A good rich chocolate and and toast aroma on the nose. Mouthfeel was big and rich and did not let down the accompanying aroma and flavors. The alcohol content was well hidden. Overall a very nice beer.

A fun stout. Sweet chocolate abounds. Good care was taken with the sweet malt to produce a very gratifying stout. Didn’t notice the %. Very easy to drink.

Smooth, creamy stout. Roasty malt, a bit of toast and coffee, and a good bit of chocolate. Ever so slight tart fruit, cherry and fig.

Bottle: pours black with a light tan head. Aromas are chocolate and some roasty coffee. Taste is nice, sweet chocolate and some nice sweet milk. Delicious... Creamy is the best description.

Bottle. Black with a with good sized light brown head and plenty of lacing. Mostly chocolate milk with a little coffee and charred wood. Milk chocolate sweetness on front end with a medium woody bitter finish. Body is heavier with a creamy/foamy feel.

Actually a good brew. Its hit or miss for me with them. Roasty scent. Burnt espresso. Dark. Nice head and lace. The roasty malts are prominent. A bit bitter. Wish it had a bit more sweetness to make it balanced. I’d like to see more booze in it to. Not bad.
