Served from a 12 oz bottle from Hyde Park Wine and Spirits. The appearance is a deep brown-black with no head. The flavors and aromas are similar with a roasted malt, milk chocolate, lactose sugar, and vanilla. The mouth is a touch chalky. Could use more creaminess for the name but not bad.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Clear 14.75-oz. porter/stout glass From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif. Price: $10.99 for a 4-pack Purchased: Feb. 9, 2016 Consumed: Feb. 9, 2016 Misc.: Best before April 4, 2016 Was looking for a porter, stout or imperial stout (etc.), to try and this one piqued my interest. Not the best reviews and the two beers I reviewed from them hasn’t necessarily been spectacular, but let’s go with it. Poured a dark reddish, black color with 1-to-2 fingers of rocky, tan head. Minimal spots of lacing on the sides of the glass. Minimal retention. (Sight - 3.00) Smelled milk chocolate, almost artificial like, wet cocoa, vanilla notes, some dark boozy malts, dark espresso, brownie mix and roasted dark malts. (Smell - 3.75) Tasted artificial creamy milk chocolate, vanilla, wet cocoa, roasty malts, dark toffee, dark espresso and a touch of dark fruits. Very smooth for a 7.2 pct. ABV brew. Super artificial though. (Taste - 3.75) Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 3.75) I feel like I slightly overrated this as a 3.75. I usually underrate, but a few things might have put this over tonight. (Overall - 3.75) 3.71 84 B

Big nose of roasted chocolate. Dark black with lasting layer of tan head. Big dry chocolate hits first then as the bitter reaches its max the cream slide through to fill out this beer. Lasting cream after the sip. Smooth expressive and delicious.

Bottle at Jason’s, courtesy of Jason. Thanks man! Pour is deep brown, almost black with a small tan head and good lacing. Cocoa, vanilla, some toffee, caramel, light coffee and bready malty aroma. Taste is brown sugar, twangy malty, vanilla, light cocoa, roasty, bready, caramel, and husky with a semi-sweet finish. Meidium body with light carbonation. Not bad.

Milk chocolate, caramel, roast, black licorice and dark fruit in the aroma. Complex, but the chocolate comes off a bit fake. Very pretty dark brown, slightly see through with a tiny ring of tan foam. The taste is more roasty than I expected with some dark chocolate and caramel. Not overly sweet, tastes bigger than the 7.2% ABV would suggest. The palate is a little thin and the carbonation is a little high. Good, not great. The artificial quality in the taste and the thinness of the palate knock it down a few levels for me.

Vanilla and metal on the nose. Light coloured. Bit fizzy. Thin. Sweet. Rusty. Don’t like it near as much as some.
