COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Pours amber, off-white, brief receding head, leaving light lacing, slightly hazy. Aroma is hops and bread. Taste is nice balance of hops and malt with a slight peppery spice. Nice mouth-feel with a medium body, slightly chewy. It’s nothing remarkable, but is well crafted and very drinkable.

A - Pours a hazy amber with a small head. S - Soft grain, hints of metal, honey. T - Sweet honey grain and hints of caramel. Has some tea tannins and slighlty nutty. Finishes dry. M - Light silky body, adequate carbonation. This an easy drinker. Sweet but subtle flavors. Has a good finish. Serving type: bottle 02-22-2011

Nice subtle hoppiness with a smooth malty finish. Overall a nicely balanced beer. The problem with the beer is that it doe snot have a lot of depth and body. Slight watery and plain. A nice drinking beer but nothing more than that.

Draft to taster (from notes). Looks solid; a transparent amber with foamy off-white head. Smells and tastes solid too; semi-sweet with some hops and notes of caramel. Average on the palate. A decent amber.

Had it out of a bottle poured a slight head. Tasty caramel malt flavor. Very subtle but nice hop aroma.

July 2010. From bottle. Pours amber color with a short white head. Somewhat sweet with some caramel notes. Not my favorite.

Pours a light brown/amber with small white foam cap that dissipates quickly. Aroma is all malt, with nice caramel, nutty, and toffee notes. The taste is where this beer goes wrong. Starts with slightly nutty malt taste up front, with absolutely nothing behind it. Instead of having layers of taste, the initial nutty taste immediately fades into thin, watery nothing. Finish is a lasting, somewhat astringent, unpleasant nutty malt. It’s not often I toss a beer out, but this one went down the drain

12oz. Bottle. Pours clear, amber orange with little to no froth. The aroma is malty. The taste is somewhat flat but lively to the palate...if that makes any sence. Overall; I thought the beer missed the mark and was disappointing.

Full flavor, light bodied session beer. Hoppy caramel flavor that you could drink all day. I want to believe all American Pale Lagers tasted similar to this is the 1930s.
