Subtlety. That's what makes our Avalanche amber ale such a treat. We blend pale and caramel malts -- and just a kiss of bittering hops -- to create a refreshing-but-flavorful, any-time beer. Aromas of pale grains, a semi-sweet middle and a clean-as-Colorado-snow finish make this our best-selling beer.

Front is a dry barley taste. Middle is basically gone. Nothing there. Finish is slightly hoppy: think Kent Goldings type hoppy, though. That's right: more "mossy" flavor and not biting at all. Finish is more malt and barley. Dry throughout and would probably go well with food. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ Sporting News: awful excuse for an amber ale. Resembles a thick dark lager. Doesn’t even compare to something like Mac & Jacks African amber. Nice looking off white head. Grapes aroma and bowl of Cheerios aftertaste.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Pours a light to medium cloudy brown with a small off white head. Smells of caramel and butter. Tastes of caramel, butterscotch with a mild hop bitterness. Finishes dry. Really thin. Will never drink again.

Bottle - Pours amber with a creamy head. Sweet aroma of caramel and bread, not bad. Semi-sweet taste with some berry and slightly off finish. Average at best.

Drank from a pint poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Pours a nice amber color with little carbonation. Has nice aromas of caramel. A decent amber leaves a very sweet taste on the tounge. Purchased as part of a twelve pack sampler with vanilla porter, lucky u IPA,and summer bright ale.

"a standard amber...well balanced with caramel and nutty malts, and a touch of citrus and bittering hops. nothing stands out, but nothing was off either. one of those i’d have again if it were offered but wouldn’t buy."

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange color. Small beige head. Caramel malt nose has notes of butterscotch. Tangy, bready malt flavor. Light bodied with notes of honey. Grainy and sweet with little hops to speak of. A bit lacking.

Tap @ Brewpub. Back to a lighter wheatier character. Not bad. Not too deer, not bitter at all.

Bottle Pour, minimal head faded fast, no lacing. Amber color, lack of any aroma. Light caramel malt flavor. No noticeable hops or carbonation. Not impressed.

I don’t know what it is, but it just has that "amateur brewer" aftertaste. Half-way decent. It got better as I got toward the end.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass purchased in Denver. Beautiful red amber color. Deliciousness caramel tones with a nice hoppy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
