Had this beer on 8/27/1999. Color is a medium brown with good carbonation and a light head. Aroma is a nice of roasted malt scent. Taste is mild , roasted and smooth. It starts with a medium body that goes down with a smooth creamy feel. The finish is a mild roasted flavor backed with a light bitterness. It’s a mild well rounded brew that fits it’s category very well.

Tap @ Breckenridge brewpub, Downtown Denver. Pours dark amber, small tan head. Light aroma of malt, caramel, lighy hops. Taste is rather weak with same flavors as aroma had. Thin body, soft carbonation, way to weak taste. 290212

Draft at Breckenridge. Pours an attractive deep brown, transluscent, offwhite head. Nose is nice. Nutty and toasty with some grassy English hop notes as well. Crisp and clean nose overall. On tasting, nice level of bitterness, really crisp. Some nice toasty malt notes and a clean overall profile. Really nice NE Brown.

ROGUE (1360) - Newark, Delaware, USA - OCT 19, 2011
On tap at Breckenridge Blake St. Pours a clear, deep brown color with a small off white head. Bready, yeasty aroma with some roasty malts underneath. Taste is buttery malt and a little bittersweet chocolate, followed by some earthiness with a mild roasted malt flavor, that finshes lightly hopped. Smooth and creamy on the palate with active carbonation and a medium body.

Sampled at Denver Winter Brewfest 2011. Mild see-through brown with light tan head. Aroma pretty enticing with chocolaty malts, but not out of the ordinary for brown ales. Taste is the same, typical for a Brown but still good. Mild hop bitterness at the end. Very average for its style. It’s good, but I cannot help but feel like the brewers just phoned this one in.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2011 Tap @ Denver location. Orangish brown appearance with a tan head. Slightly nutty, toasty brown malty aroma. Nutty, mild toffee, caramel malty flanker. Not bad but pretty boring like some off Breckenridge’s other offerings.

Tap at brewpub.
Pours an average amber with a trashy, candy malt refuse aroma. Flavor is earthy vegetable slop. Watery mouthfeel. No double header with this one. Yuck.
