Exclusively for Old Chicago Restaurants - Buddha’s Hand witbier, or wheat beer, is brewed in the Belgian tradition with an American twist. Cascade hops along with a grain bill of Two Row, White Wheat, Caramel 30, Carapils and Torified Wheat afford this ale its 5.5% ABV and 17 IBU’s. What makes the hazy ale so unique is the addition of the fragrant Buddha’s hand citron plant fruit. The tropical fruit is segmented into finger-like sections, resembling the hand of Buddha, and responsible for a crisp, refreshing and lightly citrusy flavor perfect for summer enjoyment.

On tap at the new Breckenridge location in Littleton. Had a sample and brought home a growler. Amber copper gold color with head and lace as poured in a Scotch Silly glass. Aroma of amber malt, slight bubblegum, light herbs. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of wheat, grains, light malts, slight herbs, minerals, citrus rind. Overall flavorful, rich with some unusual flavors but refreshing on a summer eve.

Pale, would not know its a whitbeir. Lighter on the palate at first. Seems well balanced and easy going without trying. Not bad. Perhaps some leather in there. Mild medicine on the finish. OK overall but was expecting more for a wite. .

Poured a slightly hazy yellow color with almost no head. Aroma has lots of yeast with some banana and bubblegum. Other light fruit as well, quite sweet. Taste is very fruity with lots of yeast flavors. Some slightly cheesy notes with hops. High carbonation with a medium body. Finish is crisp with banana, wheat, and fruit. Overall decent!

12 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Williston. Appearance: finger white head, straw yellow, clear, head does not last long, good lacing. Aroma: banana, light floral hops. Palate: light body, average carbonation, medium bitter finish, thin to slightly sticky texture. Taste: sweet wheat and malt into a floral and piney bitter finish. Overall, strange combination, really not that good.
