Flavor is of caramel, some chocolate and esters. Alcohol warmth and clove in the finish. Not my style. FROTHINGSLOSH (1984), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA

The aroma was lightly tangy and malty. The flavor was tangy, nutty and sweetly malty with hints of caramel and light fruity hops. The body was smooth and fairly thick. Nice. AmazonMatt (284), Panama
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Not my favorite style...these high octane winter beers. But we had one on hand. This one is pretty good. Pours a dark brown, with a pleasing head that leaves lingering rings and lacing. Both hops and malts are present. But more hops than a typical winter ale. Carmel malts dominate. Very little nose. Decent. popephred (193), Plainfield, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Poured into a pint glass, producing a nut brown body with a small mostly diminishing white head. Light, almost no nose at first pour (which was chilled) some sweet smells with medium hops. Full mouth feel with a medium bitterness, then a slight syrupiness with a touch of alcohol and hops. Nothing that is really offensive, but nothing that makes me stand up and say "Merry Christmas, Everybody!" patrick767 (2019), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2007 bottle - Pours clear dark amber with a one finger head. The aroma is of caramel malts. The flavor is sweet caramel malt and some spice, possibly nutmeg. It has a medium body and a light finish. It’s alright though I maybe expected a bit more from this seasonal brew. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Appearance isn’t great, the head dissapears after 15 minutes and has a tiny lacing.
Smell is nice, spicy with cloves and a slight coffee flavor and a little scent of some dark fruit, like grapes.
Taste is very clovey with a bitter coffee undertone.
Mouthfeel is ok, but very watery. SSSteve (2062), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
