Commercial Description:
The chill of a Colorado high-country winter calls for a beer with extra flavor and strength. Here it is. At over 7% alcohol, with a sturdy texture and rich flavors of caramel and chocolate, our holiday seasonal is the fermented equivalent of a good fire.
The ultimate winter warmer.

After the few wretched beers I just had, this actually seems good - might not under normal circumstances. Pours dark bronze with a frothy light tan head. The aroma has cinnamon and spicy hops with a bit of underlying citrus and light woodiness. Medium body with lots of prickly carbonation. Flavors start with musty caramel / chocolate malt with some cinnamon. The finish has light spice and medicinal traits added. Adequate at best.

12oz bottle. 2006 edition. Filtered and a deep dark brown with ruby tints. Spotty off-white head. Spicy aromas. Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Medium to full bodied. Sweet malts and a smooth body. Rich flavor. The malts hit then the spices. Good dose of spices. Sticky with chocolate and fruitcake undertones. Sweet, cloying and sticky. Nice Christmas brew. Thick malts and a good hop note.

2006 bottle. Beer is clear, medium-dark hued ash brown. Head is initlally small, white, frothy and is mostly and quickly diminishing.
The aroma is malty with light notes of roasted grain, trace of coffee; Hoppy with light notes of alfalfa, light-to-moderate note of resin/pine; Yeasty with a light note of dough; Light miscellaneous notes of sappy aspen bark, spicy alcohol, trace of raisin.
The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, lightly acidic with a longish, moderately warm, light-to-moderately bitter, lightly sweet, trace acidic finish. Roasty, nutty retros.
The body is medium, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is average.

Bottle. A brown color with a diminished light brown head. A touch of candy spices and ginger in a predominately nut and malt aroma. A nutty and malt flavor with a carboard like quality.

YAWN. boring. tastes cheap and thin. To me it tastes like a light beer with spice. Every time I have a Breck beer I am never dissapointed. They are always poor. I guess I had a high expectation for this brewery. Its just not very good.
