vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Dec 31, 2006 After the few wretched beers I just had, this actually seems good - might not under normal circumstances. Pours dark bronze with a frothy light tan head. The aroma has cinnamon and spicy hops with a bit of underlying citrus and light woodiness. Medium body with lots of prickly carbonation. Flavors start with musty caramel / chocolate malt with some cinnamon. The finish has light spice and medicinal traits added. Adequate at best. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Dec 31, 2006 12oz bottle. 2006 edition. Filtered and a deep dark brown with ruby tints. Spotty off-white head. Spicy aromas. Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Medium to full bodied. Sweet malts and a smooth body. Rich flavor. The malts hit then the spices. Good dose of spices. Sticky with chocolate and fruitcake undertones. Sweet, cloying and sticky. Nice Christmas brew. Thick malts and a good hop note. pantani (1895), Salinas, California, USA Dec 31, 2006 Deep brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma is caramel, hazelnut, berries, light chocolate. Taste is walnuts, alcohol, dried fruit, black cherries, chocolate. Body is thin and boring. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Dec 30, 2006 Sweet malt and caramel in the aroma.Pours mahogany with very little head.Swet malt in the flavor.Smooth with a sweet finish. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 29, 2006 2006 bottle. Beer is clear, medium-dark hued ash brown. Head is initlally small, white, frothy and is mostly and quickly diminishing.

The aroma is malty with light notes of roasted grain, trace of coffee; Hoppy with light notes of alfalfa, light-to-moderate note of resin/pine; Yeasty with a light note of dough; Light miscellaneous notes of sappy aspen bark, spicy alcohol, trace of raisin.

The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, lightly acidic with a longish, moderately warm, light-to-moderately bitter, lightly sweet, trace acidic finish. Roasty, nutty retros.

The body is medium, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is average. jazz88 (2236), San Francisco, California, USA Dec 23, 2006 Bottle. A brown color with a diminished light brown head. A touch of candy spices and ginger in a predominately nut and malt aroma. A nutty and malt flavor with a carboard like quality. waolsen (1220), Littleton, Colorado, USA Dec 23, 2006 YAWN. boring. tastes cheap and thin. To me it tastes like a light beer with spice. Every time I have a Breck beer I am never dissapointed. They are always poor. I guess I had a high expectation for this brewery. Its just not very good. railcat1 (578), Orlando, Florida, USA Dec 20, 2006 This was not a bad beer.strong on alcohol dark red in color and very easy and smooth to drink
