Commercial Description:
The chill of a Colorado high-country winter calls for a beer with extra flavor and strength. Here it is. At over 7% alcohol, with a sturdy texture and rich flavors of caramel and chocolate, our holiday seasonal is the fermented equivalent of a good fire.
The ultimate winter warmer.
Available: November-December

Hazy dark brown body with small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, roasty/burnt caramel, some nutty, light sour cherry. Taste is medium sweet, nutty, some caramel, roasty, light astringent. Creamy medium body with low carbonation.

Dry, roasted malt aroma with hints of molasses. Dark amber red. Slow carbonation. No head. Nice flavor. Caramelly, roasted malt, sweet, with some molasses. Reasonably hoppy. Well balanced. Similar in essence to Town Hall’s Dusseldorf Altbier. Has the same subtly hoppy finish. This is a good effort despite its lackluster reviews.

bottle. pours a clear dark amber with a small head and virtually no lacing. somewhat malty and the alcohol is well hidden. I had a couple of Breckenridge brews on tap at the brewpub a couple of years ago and if memory serves me correctly, this is one of their better efforts.

A bit disappointed with this brew. Description is a bit deceptive. Pleasant nose abundant with caramel malt aroma. However, rather than rich caramel and chocolate the flavor was predominantly acidic with a raisin or plum finish. I will not be rushing to open my second bottle.

Dusty red-amber. Huge malty nose, loads of butterscotch. Excellent malty flavor as well, lots of chocolate, bit raisiny in the fruit, but caramel, toffee, and butterscotch predominate. Nicely creamy as well.

First smell is a bit of ashtray, then turns a bit of sweet maple and raspberry liquor. Mundane flavors... light cherry or wood or something, it’s not important... lacking any holiday-like spices, it has a little sweet scotch and plum flavors, but nothing tremendously impressive... drinkable though.

Dark amber to brown clear filtered body. Loads of butterscotch and medium alcohol in the nose. Flavor is more of the same with a big emphasis on the butterscotch. Quite malty, no spices in this Xmas beer, yeah! Medium almost full body. Overall just ok.

12oz bottle....Numbers for bottling month on lable, but nothing is notched...WTF is the point? Dark brown color...twangy nose and flavor comes out quick...lots of malt, but this lactic sort of twang is really out of place. I like sour, but this is just twangy and poor. Dumper. Maybe that is why there is no BBD! Not the worst beer I’ve ever had, but why bother drinking something that isn’t enjoyable?
