Not really a Christams Beer but very good. Smooth with a malty flavor and hint of caramel, dark color not much head.

On tap at Kumaís Too. Dark brown and clear. Caramel and light citrus fruits in the aroma. Big caramalt taste, and a big body to match it. Enjoyable.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. The look is clear, amber red in color, with a thin beige head. The smell is malty, weak, sweet, barf, spice, and eh. The taste sweet, fruits, malt, and ugh.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Ratings are strangely low for this brew. Nose is nice with a modicum of piney hops and a very mild spice note - perhaps from the malt. Flavor is solid with the tasty dark caramel malt balanced with sticky hops, and throughout a very mild infusion of some light spice flavor which remotely resembles orange peel but could be an aspect of the malt or hops. Quite a good seasonal strong ale.

It was surprisingly bland. It got better as you went on, but rather forgettable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle shared. Pours medium dark reddish brown. With no apparent head or lacing. Aroma is chocolate mildly and what smells like tobacco. Flavor wise it has some spice in there but canít really tell you what it is. Not a fan because of so little going on.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark amber brown poured from a tap. Sweet aroma almost reminds me of gingerbread. Sweet taste as well with a little fruit.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark amber color with a decent head that fades to some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit and a hint of nuts. Taste follows with roasted malt, some dark fruit and a bit nutty. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly medium body, smooth, with the 7.4 ABV well hidden. Nothing fancy but not a bad way to start the holidays.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle pour, clear amber with creamy white head, good lacing. Faint malty aroma (sweet, bready). Mild taste of sweet malts, slightly fruity (raisin or plum-like), faint floral hops with enough bitterness to balance malt back. Smooth mouthfeel, decent finish. A well constructed winter ale, a little too light on flavor and aroma for my liking.
