Commercial Description:
The chill of a Colorado high-country winter calls for a beer with extra flavor and strength. Here it is. At over 7% alcohol, with a sturdy texture and rich flavors of caramel and chocolate, our holiday seasonal is the fermented equivalent of a good fire.
The ultimate winter warmer.

Darker Brown Coloring. Little Carbonated. No Trace of Alcohol. Little Malty. Bitter Overall and Would Agree With a Metallic Taste. I Think They Bottled the Wrong Beer, Judging By the Description.

12oz bottle. Pours clear, dark brown. white soapy head. Aroma of rich malts, lots of caramel, some chocolate.Flavor has an bit of citrus hop, some chocolate malt. Quite an unique combination you’d not expect in a beer. A bit on the watery side. Not as flavorful or bodied as the Autumn Ale. It really is a great beer, just not what I’d expect for a Christmas Ale.

Sampled at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a medium brown color. Faint aroma of banana and caramel. Sweet earthy aroma of caramel and spice. Medium bodied and off balance.

Deep brown with a good head. Aromas of hay, lemon and molasses. The flavor is dark but not thick. Woody, molasses. Sweet and meaty but not heavy or chewy.

Darker red, little head, some lacing. Treacly sweet malts, on the verge of cloying. Sweet "Ocean Spray" flavor. Hops for balance? NOPE. hmmmm, the funky middle of the tongue weird taste of Breckenridge returns...what IS that? Very long fruity aftertaste - make it go away, please.

2001 bottle...pours dark brown with thin but long lasting head...smells of alcohol, maple syrupy, a little spicy and chocolate...all those flavors are present in the taste, but just very thin in the mouth...the aroma was great, but it just kind of died after that...thick long syrupy finish...

Bottle. A brown color with a diminished light brown head. A touch of candy spices and ginger in a predominately nut and malt aroma. A nutty and malt flavor with a carboard like quality.

Clear caramel-y brown is the color, the head is a small thing, soon gone, best unremarked upon. Aroma, cola-ish, coffee tones and nuts, a smidgen of spice? No, not really. Taste: a bit dull, brown ale-ish, just a touch of toffee, but all in all, dull. Light in body, with nary a finish to be found. Unremarkable all the way. Warm? Not much. Wintry? by a long stretch, maybe...nothing very Christmas-y about it..."malty and warming in character, with a semi-sweet, full-bodied flavor," says the label...it’s a slight stretch of the imagination, but true in many respects. Very run-of-the -mill, just malty and wintry enough...actually gets better as we get further in, but I’m no more impressed. Yeah, I can drink it, but it’s nothing to shout about.
