As far as Christmas Ales go, it is not that special. I am a dark beer fan and prefer Christmas Ales where the added spices come into play.

Warm, filling ale with citrus aroma, toffee flavor notes, and bready/malty background. Very drinkable, no matter the season!

Color is like a chestnut with some lighter ruby/orange hilight.
Average foam head fades to a simple surface foam.
Aroma is sweet malts maybe a hint a hint of vinilla. I don’t notice much hops.
Taste of sweet malt with hints of fresh bread nuts and some slight diacetyl.
A bit astringent when I swallow. A good bit of alcohol too.
Has a medium body but tends to be a little bit watery around the edges.
Needs flavor I think is the major problem

Pours a brownish color with off-white head. Spice, chocolate, and some caramel/toffee on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a roasted malt note and some spice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
pours unclear golden orange with a small white head, some retention and lacing. munich toasted and spicy malts - just a touch of caramel and roasted notes, red fruitiness - mostly cranberries but also raspberries and red grapes, spices - pot-pourri-like cinnamon, never overwhelming though, peppery yeastiness, grass, raspberry leaves tea, hint of sweetness. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, balanced grassy-woodsy-spicy and lightly astringent finish. more than decent christmas offering - subtle spice mixture blends in well with malt bill - or maybe they slightly faded for this bottle has a few months of age. anyhow, it’s enjoyable.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of caramel, nutmeg and a little citrus. Taste is light bitter. Herbal and citrus hops with nutmeg and caramel. Light bodied with a slightly thick texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Great beer.

This beer is nice and dark with a little bit of sweet and a good amount of strong. It goes down so smooth and fast its hard to taste notes of anything. It needs to be named something else so they can make it all year round, so that everyday can be Christmas.

Cityfresh (Associated), Brooklyn bottle ($1): Pours clear amber with a light beige head. Aroma is light spice, caramel malts, and a hint of hops. Taste is ever so slightly bitter. Caramel malt sweetness throughout. Tastes like an amber ale. I was surprised to find out that the alcohol content was this high. I was thinking that this was going to be a 5 percenter. It is OK, and it is plenty drinkable, but it is also plenty forgettable.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reviewed from notes. Consumed December 15, 2012.
The appearance has a dark amber colored body with a one finger white foamy head that lasts for a half a minute before dieing to a one finger film that sticks around for most of the rest of the beer. While dieing to the one finger film, some nice clingy lacing graces the pint glass. Since the body is slightly transparent, some light carbonation is seen slowly rising.
The smell has some hops, caramel and spices up front. Some chocolate comes out slightly after warming up a bit.
The taste is pretty much the same as the smell leaning closer to sweet.
On the palate, it sits about a medium with a smooth almost nice creaminess that comes out.
Overall, hey, I like this one. I would definitely come back to this. Good for the style, pretty good for me.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Top Hops. Dark pour with amber hilites. Perfumed aroma with a little citrus and Christmas cookies. A big brown/amber ale with a bit of coffee, nutmeg, woodsmoke, and allspice. Pretty dry, with a touch of sourness. Very drinkable, like most Breckenridge releases. Underrated imo.
