Bottle thanks to funkybrewster. Pours a dark clear amber with a smaller sudsy head. Aroma of malt dust and bit of chocolate, lightly toasty caramel, with a touch of pine. Flavor follows, but their is something a bit vegetal that throws it off with noticeable alcohol.

12 oz bottle-Clear amber pour w/a moderate head. Malty aroma. Some malt, some caramel, a good bit of carbonation. Not a whole lot of spice, solid easy drinking brew. Long finish.

While the amber colt was enticing, the taste was not. I expected a spicer brew since it was a Christmas offering. Not much taste at all. Would not buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours translucent amber with fairly fluffy finger wide off-white head which dissapates fairly slowly. Little lacing, medium/light body, and light grainy aroma. Taste is roasted caramel malt, some spice (mostly some cinnamon), and light grassy hop finish. Alcohol is pretty well covered, but just average.

Gifted to me by my gal pal Nancy, who purchased it from "Jungle Jim’s" in Fairfield, Ohio - Alright, this coppery brown brew has a faint, spicey aroma and a rapidly fading white head of foam. Tastewise, the malt and holidat pie flavors intermix, but not too strongly, It really needs more body and upforwardness to be a really great Xmas brew!

Bottle, from the bottle - so no real good "appearance" value. Aroma from bottle was light caramel malt, with spice. Flavor was sweet malts, spice notes. Okay, but a bit "artificial" but enjoyed enough.

Pour on tap at the brewpub in Breck, CO, dark reddish almost brown with off white head, aroma brought notes of clove, cinnamon, some toasted bread, hints of caramel, touch of cocoa, but a bit muted overall. Taste was slightly spicy with clove and cinnamon notes coming through, hints of chocolate toasted sugars and bread notes, slight earth finishing fairly sweet.

Breckenridge Christmas Ale is a very clear and sparkling ruby ale with a sand colored head that fades to a bubbly film and leaves very nice lacing on the glass. It has sort of a sweet malty aroma of caramel and chocolate. The hops seem a little spicy and there may be orange peel in there. It’s pretty light bodied and smooth. The finish is quick, clean and dry. It doesn’t taste sweet like it smells. It’s almost a little salty. DMS is detected, along with a note of cherry or plum. It’s reasonably bitter. The bitterness lingers for a while after the finish, along with a peppery rumble and maybe phenol. It tastes ok, but it’s not very focused. It goes down pretty smooth, but it’s a little strange tasting. Maybe I shouldn’t be drinking Christmas ale in January.
