Commercial Description:
The chill of a Colorado high-country winter calls for a beer with extra flavor and strength. Here it is. At over 7% alcohol, with a sturdy texture and rich flavors of caramel and chocolate, our holiday seasonal is the fermented equivalent of a good fire.
The ultimate winter warmer.

A fine looking beer, pours a deep mahogony with a light tan head. Smooth palate, but the aroma and flavor were unremarkable (at least, when compared to other winter beers). Not bad, to be sure, but nothing really jumps out at me here. I’ll probably repeat this one, but I’ll reach for another winter beer first.

Brown with a white head. Aroma of dark fruit or dried peaches. The taste is bitter with spice flavors I don’t recognize. The flavor is not overpowering and that surprised me - it also means I enjoyed it.

Pours medium brown with off brown head. Nose has brown sugary baked goods, mixed nuts, and miscellaneous roasty aromas. Palate is very nut-brown like with some alcohol warmth, almost like a basic nut brown ale with some kick rather than a darker Winter Warmer. Flavors remain somewhat restrained for the style, with more baked goods, holiday spices, and hops that are present enough to round things out. Finish is sweet, brown bread and some biscuits.

Communicates the flavors of the season, with heavy roasted caramel malt and nut notes dominating above light notes of cinnamon. Fairly thin and one-dimensional on the palate, with a bit of a lingering soapy finish.

Bottle enjoyed at the NSSRQSOSLT, 1/10! No idea who brought this, but thanks! Pour was copper with a weak to nil head. The aroma was spicey caramel. The flavor was caramel, holiday spices (cinnamon / nutmeg?), fruity, some sort of a hybrid toast/roast faint contribution in there, astringent? The mouthfeel was light. Meh, boring, but at least the alcohol wasn’t hot.

12 oz. Clear, red-brown with a thin film of foam. Aromas of dark toffee and orange. Flavors of caramel, roasted nut, toasted oak, light ginger/nutmeg, cherry and citrus. Medium body is a thin, easy drinker, smoothly carbonated with a spicy-hop tingle.

Pours a mahogany color with a small beige head, dissipates quickly with not much lacing. Smells like caramel malts, not too much going on. It’s a malty, sweet, medium bodied beer that has a light bitter finish. A very simple and drinkable beer, it’s good, but doesn’t quite seem like a Christmas Ale.

Copper with a small off white head, nose of sugar and spice. Lightly malty with sugary sweetness in the flavor, but not anything impressive.
