COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Breckenridge brewery has hooked us up again. To commemorate our 15th anniversary, FS 15 version 2.0 has taken a step in a different direction and is a Black IPA. It pours deep black and packs a piny punch in the nose. Dark roasted malts not only provide its dark colors, but also roasty chocolate and espresso notes to combat the hop bitterness. This unique and exclusive brew is not to be missed.

On tap - Addison Flying Saucer. Would never have called this a Black IPA, in fact my initial thought was it’s some sort of dark wheat beer. Not thick or chewy. Subdued aroma with some roasty flavor. Very little hop kick. Not a bad beer but not great either.

Clear, ruby black. Light tan frothy head. Somewhat savory hop aroma with fruit. Aroma note of black-eyed peas or otherwise slightly vegetable. Sweet, tangy, light vinegar. Roast in the finish primarily, but there in the flavor profile as well. Spritzy. Good. On tap, Flying Saucer, KC.

On tap at Flying Saucer. Pours a dark ruby with small frothy light tan head leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a roasted malt and caramel. Medium mouthfeel with a light roast and a nice smokey finish. Easy to drink a very good black IPA from Breckenridge.

On tap at the Saucer in Houston. Deep brown in color with some ruby highlights. Atop sits a light tan head with a very fine texture and some nice lacing. Some light chocolate tones, a little fruity sweetness, and mild citrus hops are found in the aroma. The flavor comes in with a smooth, light citrusy bitterness, a little tangy, with a light background of medium-sweet malt. Slightly dry overall. A nice and interesting beer, with a good balance of several differing flavors. Tasty stuff.
