COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We like to think this is an ale for everyone who believes you make your own luck. We sure did. And the result is a well-balanced, soulful IPA with just the right amount of hoppiness. An even keeled ale that goes down clean and refreshing, but still lets you know it’s been doted on by the Brewmaster. It’s true to it’s IPA heritage, but also highly drinkable. Lucky U. And we seriously mean that.

Bottle from Root Cellar. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate malt and tart citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet acidic finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

draft. light haze peach colored body with a small white head, sticky lacing but poor head retention. soft, clean peach rind ad grapefruit amarillo nose. tangy, zesty citrus juice flavor up front. lingering high alpha bitterness - bright, crisp, clean bitterness - chalky, drying, parched finish. surprisingly flaw-free on draft and surprisingly delicious coming from a brewery I loathe.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2010 Dark gold. Curiously "beery." Very mild sweetness, perhaps a pinch of caramel. Lively carbonation. Bread crust and crackers in the malts. Some light flowers in the aromas. Bitter grass in the aftertaste. Not my favorite IPA but not bad.

This beer pours a copper color and is just a wee bit cloudy. Very small whitish head. Interesting swirliny lacing. Grapefruit nose with some passion fruit. Grapefruit also dominates the flavor. Some bread. Not quite enough to balance the hops but hopheads will like this one. The hops are fresh in my bottle. A nice IPA.

12oz bottle from Whole Foods on October 31, 2009. Pours a golden orange color with a big white frothy head. Aroma of hops and light metal. Flavor is bittery sour hops, enough to make your mouth pucker a little. Really reminiscent of soft pretzels. Not really hoppy, just a strange sensation. A little grassy, perhaps. Malty bitter finish. A pretty darned good IPA, and not your every day example of one.

Clear heavy yellow pour. Smells of hops and a bit of spice. Taste is dry and light on the hops. Flavor finishes easily without poor tastes.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2010 I do love IPA’s but am starting to see the difference between fair, good and great ones. This one is good but certainly not great compared to the others brewed locally. Not bitter enough and to metalic for my taste. 03/24/10 I am re-rating this do to having tried it again. I don’t know if the batch I had previously was bad or what but the 2 bottles I had last night were much more pleasing. Also, i am reading that the appearance was clear when last nights bottles poured somewhat hazy. Better all-around flavor, mouthfeel, and appearance. Not great but certainly not bad either.
