Bottle. I like the 471 but didn’t like this as much. Hazy amber with frothy cream head. Smells really sweet like caramel and cotton candy. Tastes sweet with only a minimal hop presence. Even the finish is sweet.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Malt aroma right off the bat. To taste you pick up hints of caramel and more malts, not much hops. Lingers nicely, great for malt lovers.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 25, 2014 Poured from the can into my favorite pint glass. To start with the can is very eye pleasing the picture looks like some old school tattoo flash, and the color of the can almost matches the beer. Pours a coupla two-tree fingers of root beer float looking foam on top of this orange tasty beer. I’m not sure if this beer should be called an IPA but it’s very good. Lucky Me for buying it!

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a very dark orange, almost brown. Very cloudy with eighth inch of khaki head. Great nose - citrus and floral hops, strong aromatic tropical fruits, creaminess detectable as well as carmel malt. Lively carbonation, tingly mouthfeel, slightly scaly finish. Tropical fruits and melon flavor, some citrus, carmel malts, strong astringent spruce too.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Copperish color with a grapefruit and herbal hop aroma. The taste is again grapefruit but with more balanced sweetness from the malts. Overall tastes more earthy in the finish. A hint of a metallic aftertaste which may be the result of an old bottle or something. All in all a good to average beer would like to try a fresher sample.
