| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Bottle. Initially, this smells very similar to two very other notable stouts (one an oatmeal): Big Eddy and BORIS the Crusher - a sweet but dark concoction of chocolate, coffee, deep cream and spices. The spices melt away in the flavor, however, and what remains can be called, dry, dark, watery, and imbalanced at the end. But I have had worse... BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2008 I purchased this as part of my pick six at my local shop. This pours an opaque dark brown, with a light brown head. The aroma is very roasty, and a bit nutty, very different, but I like it. The flavor definitely follows suit, with roasted coffee notes, as well as hints of dark chocolate. A classic stout with wonderful roasty notes. Cheers! kseecs16 (874), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with a tan head that laces the glass. The aroma is mild with some smoked malt character. Flavor seems very light, like a toasted brown ale and lacking any strong malt body. Medium to full bodied with a foamy feel and some lingering dry bitterness.
