Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout

Bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville. Viscous chocolate brown pour with a one finger head. Aroma if faint and shows notes of bitter roasted malt and an oatmeal sweetness. Taste is roasted malt, oats and a little smokiness. Smooth, creamy and full bodied.

UNASSUMING straight and honest oatmeal stout. nice malt flavors a touch of cocoa with coffee. bottle ended with a touch of acid and a true burnt wood smoke flavor that was delightfully refreshing. odd as normally i hate that flavor. so satisfying with that alcohol !? this beer is well balanced and has quite a good mouthfeel that is mainly velvety. bit of raisin and cherry in the malty aroma. can’t say enough as this beer is so well put togeather.

Smooth, average cream colored head. First had it on tap at the brewery and have since had bottles from several locations and have not been disappointed, but as in most cases, better from the source.

A very smooth poor. Very little head and a smooth flavorful taste. Plenty of aroma and a good Oatmeal Stout. I will try a few more from this Colorado brewer.

Bottle. Black pour with a small brown head. Sweet aroma with a nice roasted presence. Same can be said for the flavor, which comes with a puckering sourness. Not bad, but this is not as smooth/creamy as an oatmeal stout should be.

Pours a dark chocolate with a medium sized khaki head. Aromas of oatmeal cookies and almonds. Flavors a little lighter then i expected, but pleasent, silky- not as creamy as i usually like my oat stouts. A little weak at times.

Bottle from oak tree. Pours a dark brown body with a lighter head 1 finger. Aroma is coffee, sweet chocolate, and subtle oats. Mouthfeel is creamy with a dry finish. A mellow flavor of sweet malt, and coffee. No etoh here. Simple stout.

12oz bottle. Pours dark brown in color with thin brown head, which does not last long. Aroma roasted coffee, malt and is sweet. Taste of coffee, dark chocolate and molasses with dry finish.
