Commercial Description:
Rich, round and roasted, our Oatmeal Stout is satisfaction in a glass. It's a bold, smooth-bodied concoction that oozes dark-roasted coffee aromas and flavors of espresso and semi-sweet chocolate. We round out these heady pleasures with a dose of flaked oatmeal for a creamy body and a semi-dry finish. Unforgettable.

12oz bottle 8/10/09 (Davidson’s Liquor-Littleton)-Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, and sweetness. Taste is chocolate, coffee, and oats. This full bodied brew is one if not the best beers Breckenridge makes. Nice brew.

On Tap at Shallo’s. Pours dark black, with minimal quickly fading head. Nose is smooth, sweet oats and sugary chocolate. Taste is roasted oats, dark chocolate and smooth dark malt. Very good for the style, nothing too spectacular. Worth trying, if you see it.

Second beer tasted of Oatmeal Stout Saturday Night (following Goose Island, followed by Southern Tier). Translucent black under a perfect cap of big-bubbled, condensing milk-chocolate head. Light coffee, sweet dark chocolate, and medium-roasted malt smells fill the nose with a nice aroma. Taste matches some of the flavors, but the quiet oat aroma belays hides a surprising amount of oaty flavor. Chocolate follows with a bit of smoke, and light-roast coffee and malt take a back seat rounding out the flavor profile. Initially very sweet, ranges through to a dry finish. Light carbonation and a nice medium body make this a very drinkable stout.

Reviewed 7/5/2009 (bottle): Pours a very dark brown color body, tan colored head, creamy, lastingish. Roasty aroma coffee and dark chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel, roasted and chocolately, milk chocolate. Warming. Bitter as it warms up. Not too shabby, creamy.

mmmmtasty! So I’m not exactly the avid stout drinker.. however, this is a pretty tasty beverage! It poured a nice dark brown black color with a pretty tan/caramel head that was a decent thickness. Aroma was sweet, chocolaty, and not too much coffee in my opinion. It tastes great! Very balanced, a bit bitter, but sweet at the same time. I really enjoy how balanced this beer is.

Poured a thick very dark brown, black in the glass with a large, sudsy, sand colored head that left a tan sheet of lace on its way back into the beer. The aroma is strong with roasted coffee and toasted oats upfront, and subtle hints of dark chocolate and lactose. The flavor is similar but mellow. You can taste the chocolate and lactose a lot more near the end. Mouthfeel is thick going in, but thin going down. Nice finish. A little watery but delicious none the less.
