Jul 2, 2009 Poured a thick very dark brown, black in the glass with a large, sudsy, sand colored head that left a tan sheet of lace on its way back into the beer. The aroma is strong with roasted coffee and toasted oats upfront, and subtle hints of dark chocolate and lactose. The flavor is similar but mellow. You can taste the chocolate and lactose a lot more near the end. Mouthfeel is thick going in, but thin going down. Nice finish. A little watery but delicious none the less.

Jun 22, 2009 Pours the standard dark color but with a thin creamy head. Smells of rich roasted coffee and chocolate. The flavor has a nice coffee kick but the oatmeal isn’t very noticeable. Mouthfeel was rather thin for a stout, but it was still pretty decent.

Jun 20, 2009 12oz bottle. Pitch black with a small beige head. Mellow choco-coffee aroma. Lots of cocoa tastes in the aroma, with a pleasant mild bitterness. Rich, and pretty full bodied for the relative low ABV. Easy watery finish, with some roasty chocolate. Very smooth and easy on the palate, yet full of flavor. Better than your typical US Stout.

Jun 18, 2009 12 OZ bottle poured in a clear pint glass. Poured a deep, dark brown with a medium amount of thick tan head. Aroma was coffee, roasted barley, oats, and a slight dark chocolate. Taste is the same, but it finishes dry. I was surprised how thin the body of this brew was, especially considering its other characteristics. It also leaves in impressive, lasting lacing in the glass.

Jun 8, 2009 Nice dark brown beer with a bubbly tan head, leaves good lacing. Aroma of coffee and oats hit me while I poured. Hardy aroma. Flavor is the same but not quite as powerful. Where the coffee took over in the aroma, the oats take over in the taste mellowing out the flavor of the coffee. Smooth and light. Oddly thin given the aroma and the flavor, like hitting a home run with a wiffle ball bat.
