3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Mulletreeve (17) - - JAN 6, 2013
12oz bottle from a mixed sixpack. A solid stout, didn't really get much oatmeal from it. Smoke, chocolate and a little coffee; nice mouthfeel and color but not much head - standard stout fare with little here of major distinction, but the flavors are well balanced and I like it.

the oatmeal is not as pronounced as I have tasted in other like brews. Just the same it really is outstanding full bodied sweet stout with hints of chocolate malts. very full and thick on the palate.

12oz bottle. Pours an oily black with a quickly diminishing head of dark tan bubbles and cream. A simple ring of tan bubbles is all that remains. The aroma is smooth and enticing. Chocolate, and mild roast. The flavor is initially roasty and a little bitter. The finish is a little sticky and more of the dark chocolate. A well-put-together beer that is very easy to drink. The reasonable alcohol also makes this quite sessionable.

The perfect oatmeal stout. Pours like a 40w motor oil! Great balance of sweet and oat. Good smoke notes with that perfect toasted toffee finish you expect from a great oatmeal stout. Thick, rich, and tasty.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2013 Bottle poured black hue w/ small fully diminishing tan head. Mild aroma of burnt malts. Initial flavor is light sweet with a moderate acidic roasted finish. Taste is roasted malt, dark roasted coffee, vanilla, and brown sugar. Medium bodied, watery texture, soft to lively carbonation.

12 oz bottle pours a dark brown/black with a tan head that dissipates quickly. Pretty roasty, kinda meaty aroma. Flavor is more roast and meat, with some strange aftertaste that I can’t identify, but it’s unpleasant.

Not bad, but nothing special. Rich, dark, semi-smoky. Medium-heavy body, clean sweet finish.

12 oz bottle-Dark pour w/no head. Burnt malt aroma. Some roasted malt, some coffee, some chololate, maybe a little oat. Pretty average, nothing special going on here. Average at best, much better examples of this style out there.

Nothing creamy about it. No coffee, no chocolate, no expresso. Tastes of burnt hair. I sincerely hope I got a bad 6 pack. No bueno Breckinridge, no bueno.
