Commercial Description:
Rich, round and roasted, our Oatmeal Stout is satisfaction in a glass. It's a bold, smooth-bodied concoction that oozes dark-roasted coffee aromas and flavors of espresso and semi-sweet chocolate. We round out these heady pleasures with a dose of flaked oatmeal for a creamy body and a semi-dry finish. Unforgettable.

It was like pouring cup of tar the color was so dark, it produced a small brownish head that disapated fast. The aroma is a heavy toasted malt. The taste is so freaking good that you need to get some. carbonation is high but it fits this beer just right. Smooth finish.

Bottle: Head died quickly, and the aroma was weak and bready. Poured a dark brown. Sweet initial taste, and at different points this stout had sweet and dark chocolate, metal, expresso, and bread notes. Medium body and sweet, mid length finish. Not a bad beer, terrable if some fool serves it too cold.

Very interesting nose. Alot going on here. Heavy notes of dark bread, grain and roasty molasses. Coffee too. Light scent of herbs. Some slight dough. Cask wood. Smokey bacon. Much like a rauchbier. Apperance was very dark, black with no head whatsoever. Flavor was bitter yet smooth with average duration. Full bodied with creamy texture and soft carbonation. Very interesting. Nice stout however inferior to Samuel Smiths. Good with desert or BBQ.

On tap at Breckenridge Pub 9/28/06. Dark brown color, clear, thin head. Aroma is very slight - some light roast. Flavor is more like a dry stout - some good roastiness, but dry and thin in body. Overall, I don’t think this has any characteristics of an oatmeal stout other than the color. It’s dry and somewhat thin, lacks the creaminess found in the style. Could pass for a dry stout.

sampled at brewpub. doesn’t seem quite as bad as others made it out to be. very dark brown, just about black with a tan head. Aroma is chocolatey. The taste is light chocolate and coffee with a silky texture. The body is medium on this beer, carbonation on the light side.
