mikey67156 (9), Winfield, Kansas, USA does not count Sep 22, 2005 A phenominal flavor with Chocolate and Coffee overtones. Very heavy and dark in color. SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Sep 22, 2005 Pleasant sweet chocolate and coffee nose is soured by uncomfotable, earthy notes. This sourness shows up throughout the beer and doesn’t fit the style. The body is creamy and slightly roasty, but also acidic and overly hoppy. Just doesn’t blend well. Bitter/roasty finish is nice though. Overall, this beer is a mess. barleyPops (1078), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA Sep 18, 2005 a solid oatmeal. hazy brown in appearance with a tan head. mild chocolate flavor with some, but not much roated malt flavor. a creamy smoothness on the palate. nicely done. dyetube (397), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 18, 2005 beer pours dark amber almost black with a 1/2 in head. smells of chocolate and coffee. has strong flavors of chocolate coffee and finishes dry. This is a good oatmeal stout but I have better. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Sep 7, 2005 A pleasant stout. Not spectacular, but enjoyable. Black, brown around the edges, deep tan head. Aroma faintly of chocolate, good coffee note without being acrid. Flavor matched, lightly liqour oriented, more chocolate than coffee. Nice stuff. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA Aug 19, 2005 Brown color. Soft aroma, with hints of prunes, raisins, chocolate and espresso. Dry and roasty (not sweet at all), with a pretty harsh acidic and overly bitter malt bite. JasonG (699), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Aug 18, 2005 Black, opaque, with oily tan head. Aroma has notes of creamy coffee, vanilla, roasted malts. Flavor has a fair amount of coffee notes and bitter malts, with a touch of sweetness. A decent brew, but falls short of a truly good stout.
