Commercial Description:
Rich, round and roasted, our Oatmeal Stout is satisfaction in a glass. It's a bold, smooth-bodied concoction that oozes dark-roasted coffee aromas and flavors of espresso and semi-sweet chocolate. We round out these heady pleasures with a dose of flaked oatmeal for a creamy body and a semi-dry finish. Unforgettable.

Bottle Pours a nice deep black with a lasting tan head. Produces some good lacing. Has a decent aroma of toasted chocolate, malts , coffee, and some nuts. Has a decent carbonation. The mouthfeel is okay. The flavor is good with a big oatmeal kick. Starts ou chocolaty and finishes with an oatmeal sour kick. Has a lighter body than I would have guessed. A pretty good finish with a good aftertaste.

Thick and creamy with a moderate head. Finishes a little bitter but starts out smooth. Very Dark and flavor changes to a little sweater as the beer warms in your hand.

The aroma is a little weak but there is definitely heavily toasted malt, coffee, burnt oatmeal toast, and molasses. The appearance is dark brown with a small head. The flavor is bitter with all the elements from the aroma. The palate is smooth and the finish bitter and metallic. The beer is decent overall but not great.

Great all-around package in this one. Poured 12oz bottle in a glass. Khaki head with a nice inky blackness underneath. Roasted chocolate malt comes through but way smooth thanks to the oatmeal. This lowers my cholesterol, right?

Bottle: This was a rich black beer with thick foamy brown head and a great retentice lacing effect. Smelled strongly of dark roasted malts. The oatmeal is a great balace to the bitterness of the stout. Not as thick as I’d prefer my stouts to be but a full bodied brew with a pleasant aftertaste. If I’m gonna sit down and have a stout, I wouldn’t mind it being this.

Pours black as black can be, with a nice brown head, which left lacing throughout. smelll is to roasted malt, bit of the oatmeal comes through. Taste is again the toasted or roasted malt, chocolate and coffee flavors are nice, and the oatmeal is creating a very velvety smooth mouthfeel. Overall this is a great oatmeal stout, and I will be picking this one up again when I find it.

12oz bottle from Orland Park Binny’s single rack. Pours clear dark brown with soft tan head. Aroma is malt, chocolate and some nuts. Flavor is malt, chocolate, nuts and some oat. Finishes with bitter chocolate and some coffee. Palate is a little thin. Decent stout but nothing I would seek out.

A dark stout with a thick collapsing moka head. Aroma of nutty coffee, chocolate moka and meaty notes. In mouth, a good powdery chocolate, sustained roasted malts, a nice big stout. Medium bodied. On tap at Ballpark brewpub 24 Jan. 2009.
