Commercial Description:
Rich, round and roasted, our Oatmeal Stout is satisfaction in a glass. It's a bold, smooth-bodied concoction that oozes dark-roasted coffee aromas and flavors of espresso and semi-sweet chocolate. We round out these heady pleasures with a dose of flaked oatmeal for a creamy body and a semi-dry finish. Unforgettable.

12-9-08. 12 oz bottle. Poured black with a creamy tan head. Smelled of roasted grain, malt, chocolate, and brown sugar. Tasted of oatmeal, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, and grain. Nicely carbonated. Nice aftertaste.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Pours very dark brown/black with a slightly lacing tan head. Aromas of dark toast malt and coffee. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is mostly coffee over dark toasted malt. It’s nicely bitter in a burnt toast way. Finishes rather smooth and somewhat astringent.

Dark brown pour, some mahogany. Large light brown head. Metal, malt and coffee aroma. Taste is coffee, caramel and roasted malt. Palate is average, nothing to write home about.

Thanks to rcasta. Now I remember that we drank this when the website was down. I did not rate for a while because of the frustration, but now Im back. Any way this was a nice stout.

bottle mix pack. Pours dark ruby with nice creamy mocha head. Aroma. I could not help but find a funky nose that reminded me a lot of Jolly Pumpkin sour fruits, also had light coffee and chocolate presence and a dough like goodness and roasted malts. Taste was a little similar, nice malty and coffee palate with a light chocolate/ bitter coffee finish. Possibly some dark fruits for an overall enjoyable beer with some astringency.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick mocha head of medium duration, with beautiful lacing, over a clear dark brown body.....nose of roasted malts (coffee, cocoa)....taste is similar, with initial malty richness, followed by mild hop....mouthfeel is lighter than expected and not as creamy as the style "oatmeal" needs. Still a nice effort.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown almost blacker with a creamy head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, coffee, nuts, banana, and smoke. Flavor is all the same. Very drinkable smooth beer. Very rich and creamy. Good decent beer.

12 oz. bottle. Brown when it pours, blackish brown in the glass, with a deep brown foamy head. Smooth dark roast and coffee malt smell, no sourness. Light coffee on first sip, followed by the lightest hint of sweet black cherry. Just a tad more astringency than most oatmeal stouts. Bottle carbonation robs it of the smoothness that it would have on a nitro tap. Lingering chocolate aftertaste is pretty pleasant. A good beer meant to be experienced on tap.
