3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown appearance with a small tan head that faded quickly and left nice lacing. Rich chocolate malt aroma. Medium-bodied, with a taste that was coffeeish and somewhat bitter. Palate was thin. Dry, short lived finish.

Bottle. Pretty sharp hops for a stout, finish is somewhat bitter. Calling it an Oatmeal Stout is misleading IMO, but still a decent beer.

Pours black, thin head. Flavor is slightly roasty, some semi-sweet chocolate and raisin. Seemed to be slightly stale. Finish was slightly acidic. I was slightly disappointed.

strong coffee aroma with much sweetness. Over-roasted malt flavor with much unwanted bitterness. Unbalanced and acrid. Finish is short and unpleasant.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Alcohol aroma: unimpressive for a mere 5%. Body beautiful opaque black, tan head. Flavor of molasses, cheap fuggles, and burnt toast. Bitter finish. Not overly impressed.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The aroma is of chocolate, raisin, bread? The apperance is a dark black with a thin creamy head. The flavor is somewhat like a cola as is the feal. Overall not that impresive.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured dark of course Large creamy tan head. Subdued aroma of malts. Taste like biter coffee. This maybe a bit too cold. Odd bread - yeast like after taste. Good lacing as the head settles. Thin mouth feel, with an unpleasant bitter, more acid after taste.

Tosa Tasting ala 1FastSTi. Chestnut to ruby color with a small tan head. Coffee and mocha aromas with a mild undertone of grain. Fairly thin in feel. Dark chocolate and caramel flavors followed by a rather harsh acidic bite.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shared at the Tosa Tasting courtesy of 1FastSTi: Has a nearly opaque dark chocolate appearance wtih a thin off-white head. Aroma is semi-sweet and roasty but subtle. Body is thin for a stout but has nice milk chocolatey and caramel malty flavor, balance, and drinkability. An average sweet stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, packaged in late November of ’04. Beautiful pour - black body with a rocky, densely foamed tan head that leaves tons of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt aroma blanketed by chocolate milk. Slightly oily, smokey finish to the aroma. The flavor hits you up with bitter hops/roasted malt but it’s lacking in a sweet body that I was looking forward to. The mouthfeel is relatively viscous, odd for a beer lacking a real core. Still, a fun beer to try. Thanks Blake!
