3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big oatmeal nose and flavor, some chocolate, hints of coffee. Dry finish. A short and sweet stout, a bit thin, but enjoyable.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This one pours like a cup of turkish coffee, black as a moonless night. Smells like coffee, something that you would want to consider drinking for breakfast. A little bittersweet on the first taste, but then it mellows into a typical stout, but never really comes across like the oatmeal stouts I have had in the past. Extremely full-bodied and rich, but not something I would seek out again.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(draught) Jet black; dark brown good head. Notes of coffee in the nose and oatmeal detectable, some burnt malts. Taste: impression of writing ink - weird. Quite bitter for an oatmeal, many roasted and burnt notes. Oatmeal seems to make it more bodied than it really is. I keep getting a thinnish texture in the end. Somehow the beer is OK in itself, but I think it is not quite up to style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured black with brown head. Coffee and burnt flavors. Very toasty and bitter. Not really sweet, but mostly dry and bitter. A slightly above average stout.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
First let me say that I am not that big of a fan of stouts. There was quite the nose of coffie. Black as night with a huge head. I would say a roasted flavor to it but as someone said earlier more of a smokey flavor. Thick feel to it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 5, 2005 Jet black with a thick frothy tan head. Strong coffee aroma and flavor. Hints of smoke, coffee, and chocolate with a bitter finish. Rich palate and nice natural carbonation. This is a decent beer from an underrated brewery. Granted, my samples have come fresh from the brewery in Breckenridge. The bottled version from Denver lacks the same luster.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
One of my favourites, right now. Nice and dark, not too expensive, and light enough that I can finish off quite a few.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Roasty coffee aroma. Black in color. Thin head. No visible carbonation. Coffee and smoke in the flavor, not too much smoke. One of Breck Brewery's better offerings.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Opaque brown with a medium creamy head. Coffee first than chocolate. Not very sweet, more of a burnt malt taste, bitter. Not very satisfying.
