Bottle from Gary’s--the only dark they had for a really cold night. It’s fine, just nothing much to it. Pretty smooth, some roast malt flavor. OK.

This is a very, very bitter stout. They should have a bitter stout category since it appears so many oatmeal/imperials seem to taste that way. I wouldn’t go out of my way for this, needs way more malt/ABV.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Madrones in Frederick, MD served in a pint glass; opaque deep dark brown (black) color with thin tan head. Aroma notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and some nuttiness. Taste adds more roast, dark chocolate and oatmeal. Medium body, low-moderate carbonation, creamy, dry with quick roast finish. Nice solid oatmeal stout.

12 oz. bottle, from the bottle. Thanks Steve! Big nose of roasted coffee, chalk, and bread. Sweet and overly roasty, with a harsh bitterness. Medium body, creamy, biting, and pleasantly aggressive. This is a mellow and reasonably tasty stout, but a little too roasted and bitter.

Robe brune avec une fine mousse beige.
Notes fumées, chocolat, café. Arômes de café et chocolat prononcés. Final fumé et sec. Texture plutôt onctueuse.
Longue en bouche.
Une bonne Stout.

Pours clear dark brown with a semi dense beige head. Nose: slight roasty malt, nutty, some chocolate and cold coffee. Taste: very light flavours with light chocolate, light nutty, coffee flavours. Drying aftertaste and a light creamy body. Very light all around.. Very light.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled, poured into glass. Very bold. Intense coffee flavors. Very "roasty" with subtle bitter chocolate. I love this style of beer but honestly, I found this one a bit on the harsh side. It's intense.
