Bottle. Pours a very dark black / brown. Nice looking, thick beige head. Aroma is slight roast coffee, maybe a touch of chocolate. Flavor is burnt coffee, touch of chocolate. Bitter to a point that I didn’t want to finish the bottle, ended up dumping the last 40% of the bottle.

Jan 7, 2009 pint @ Tyler’s Apex. Ok aroma, Mild roastiness, nutty, caramel, coffee. Clean brown color, small head, ok lace. roast malt flavor, oat adds a sweet streak, medium body, smooth mouth feel, quick dry finish. easy to drink, flavor had some moments that got my attention.

Dec 28, 2008 Smells dark and malty with hints of coffee. Taste is dark malts with coffee and chocolate. Nice and smooth oatmeal mouthfeel.

Dec 27, 2008 Pours...black with a medium head. Nice roasted malt/coffe flavor. Not sure where the oatmeal comes in but this is one of the nicer dark beers I have had. Real nice finish, no bitter taste like some darks have.

Dec 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a medium frothy tan head. The aroma is a strong roasted malt with a coffee and dark chocolate. Good sticky lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet malt with caramel and smoke with a dry finish. Easy to drink, a good stout from Breckenridge
