pope_phred (102), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Sep 2, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a double-walled pint glass. Pour produced an opaque brown-black body topped by a large, rocky light brown head of foam. Good coffee aroma. Bitter initial flavor with a light mouthfeel. Palate has a roasted coffee note to it, though I don’t detect much else. This is a great looking stout that meets my expectations for an oatmeal stout, and is quite drinkable, though it doesn’t quite stand out as being exceptional. smjohnst (133), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 26, 2008 I’ve tried numerous oatmeal stouts now and this takes the cake so far. It is the only one that has had a finish of oatmeal to it. Has a great dark brown head and black color. recommended roder_60 (872), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2008 Pours jet black with small quickly dissapating brownish head. Aroma and flavor both very dry bitter coffee. No taste of oatmeal. basic. Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 8, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. A dark brown beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is buttery combined with notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of butter and roasted malt as well as a light note of oatmeal. The body is thin. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 7, 2008 just the appropriate amount of roastiness here, with a creamy mouthfeel, melted dark chocolate, and a graham cracker maltiness. Very drinkable and balanced. I enjoyed it!
