Poured a disconcerting brown with a wispy white head. Alcohol well hidden and really not bad at all if just a but pedestrian.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Elwood (1966) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a light red color with a thin off white head. The nose dry darker malt with some bread and a decent earthy hoppiness. The flavor lightly fruity with a little bread, malt, and biscuit. Almost like a slight heavier Vienna. Medium body with easy carbonation and a pretty dry finish. Nice and very drinkable.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Drake (5231) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - MAY 5, 2012
12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Fair Lakes/Fairfax. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized tan head. Below average head retention. Aroma of toasted caramel malts and a faint herbal note. The taste is odd... tinny, fruity, almost reminiscent of canned tomatoes, with some caramel malts. Thin-medium bodied. Okay....

The Pour is deep mahogany, with little bubbles for a head. The aroma is very malty. The malt falvor is good, not too sweet, not too roasty.
The beer is light, and the hops are just a hint. This is a very drinkable beer.

Tinny pale malt nose, canned carrots. Clear copper, thin yellow head. Astringent, vegetal, tinny. Flavor is weak malt tainted with canned potatoes and carrots. The flaw isn’t severe, but there isn’t anything else going on otherwise.
