Commercial Description:
Desire coupled with curiosity can drive you to do many foolish things. Fortunately, opening a bottle of our Pandora’s Bock is not one of them. Once it is released, a wealth of flavor and complexity will spill out into the world. With a traditional bock flavor profile and a hint of hoppy goodness, there’s a reason it’s spoken about in mythical terms.

This is really a good-looking beer; it is too bad the beer doesn’t deliver on that good start with a pleasant drinking experience. I got a lot of mercaptan out of this beer, which tastes like compost or rotting vegetables, and that’s not what I’m looking for in a beer. Appearance was a rich red brass color with nice head. The appearance had me primed for a good beer experience, which was sadly not to be. Aroma was a bit sour with lots of mercaptan, which I find a bit revolting. I also got some caramel malt and diacetyl in the aroma. Flavor was distinctly metallic, although I really found it difficult to get over that rotting vegetable smell. Mouthfeel was a bit thin. I was not impressed by this beer, and I would recommend you choose something else. I bought this bottle at 3 Cellars in Franklin, WI.

A subpar dunkler bock. Aroma was so so. Fruit, caramel malt and iced tea. Pour was a nice dark gold with a 2 finger off white head. Taste was disappointing. Strong sugar and caramel that feels like it’s leaving behind a film in your mouth. Not much carbonation and a sweet syrupy aftertaste. Blah.

This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that left behind a transparent carbonated golden brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was mild with sweet malty notes. The mouth feel was mildly tingly from start to finish. The flavor was slightly stale with malty sweet malt notes and was mildly acidic.

Nice label, and it’s not like the one pictured here. Nice brownish pour that appears viscous at times. Has some gunk on the bottom that yeilds a swirling hypnotizing effect in the glass. Very mild candy aroma. Initial weird grapefruit flavor without any bitterness or sweetness on the first slug. Some noticable alky in the background. Decent carbonation all round even tho there was no head. Finish is not over whelming yet it does have some ale attributes.

This was one of the first beers that I had when I turned 21, but that was 6 years ago and I’m trying it again for the first time. Clear, Copper color. There is a soft foamy head that dissapates rather quickly (not that I really care about head retention). In the aroma, malt and yeast dominate, smells nutty. There is a toasty malt flavor that yields to a very dry aftertaste too quickly. I might like a maltier flavor, but the dry aftertaste makes it a Bock I guess. This Beer tastes fresh. I don’t usually write a lot for mouthfeel, but the dry (yet not astringent), alcoholic mouthfeel is dominant in this beer. Overall, I really like Pandora’s Bock, I would just like a little more body. I think it’s worth buying and enjoying. It’s a rather cerebral beer, if that makes any sense.

Amber with an off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts and light fruit. Taste of sweet malts, mild fruits, mostly malty. Drinkable and forgettable. Typical watery brew from BreckenWater, how in the world does this brewery get wide distribution… so many better ones out there.
