2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a dark gold with a small diminishing white head. Faint corn malt and floral hop. Medium mouthfeel with a grass citrus and corn malt. A decent imperial pils from Breckenridge.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle, $2.55 @ Bertís Better Beers, Hooksett, NH. Used a lager glass. Head that laced real well down the glass. Nice steady carbonation. Nose is grassy, hay like, Light malt. Malty flavor, with grassy hops, some malt backbone. Medium bodied. I drank this while making supper, so it sat a bit. And the ABV is apparent when it warms. I mean overall, this isnít a style I drink much. If you like Pils, you might like this. Donít get me wrong, no major flaws, but not really my thing.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle, purchased from Dutchís for $2.67. Totally clear yellow-orange color, minimal white head, active-looking carbonation, some lacing. Really nice bottle. Really nice savory fresh hop aroma, very little of the skunk that Iím accustomed to finding in "pilsners", nor the alcohol bite typical of this style. Great carbonation and texture, good mouthfeel. Nice, hoppy aftertaste. Good, but because of the price this is a brew I can never again justify buying. Itís not $2.67 good. Just a very unique pilsner, worth trying once.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear gold in color. Floral and pine hops on the aroma, with a nice malty hay tone behind it. Taste was pretty bitter, like a pale ale, not like a pils at all. Spritzy, bright, floral, piney, lightly bitter, and balanced with hay and biscuit malts. Pretty enjoyable!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours deep gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Medium-bodied with sweet caramel, resin and a sweet hot pine finish.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a orange tinged, dark gold, with a thin, off white head. Nose is the one real weakness of the brew. Has the notable aroma of an Eastern European pils, but not strong enough to really be a highlight of the beer. Flavors are the creamy, bready notes of a pils, though a bit richer and more heavily featuring alcohol as a central flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours fairly clear golden color with a small bubbly white head. Notes of caramel, manilla envelope, lemons, and bread. Good quaffer alcohol well hidden.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz. bottle. $3 at Binnyís in January. The pour is deceptively like any other pale lager: yellow fizz under a puffy head. But the yellow is a little deeper, and the bubbles have a little more trouble getting up the glass. A nice malty smell that does not betray any alcohol, and just a little hop. Taste has thick malts, and thatís where the alcohol starts to creep in. Thankfully, though, no alcohol burn, and no adjunct filler to up the amperage. A big puff of foam stays in the glass, daring me to drink around it. I just get some beer bitterness, no distinctive hops. But then, I did let this sit around for several months.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Whole Foods Market, DC sixer ($16): For this price, I got to say that this beer was sadly not worth it. Pours a golden color with a quickly disappearing head. Aroma is of grassy and floral hops. Taste is a little sweet and the alcohol is very much noticeable, especially as it warms up. Not the most pleasant beer to drink and I have certainly had better iterations of this style.
