UPDATED: NOV 8, 2014 Tap and updated rating from a bottle. Pours brilliantly clear gold with tiny, rapidly rising bubbles through the center of the glass, a medium-sized, frothy pearly white head, average retention with some ringed lacing. Aroma is moderate sweet cracker Pils malt, moderate spicy Noble hops with faint vegetal notes, light corn DMS notes underneath and otherwise clean, though some faint sulfur notes emerge as the beer sits. Flavor is moderately sweet cracker malt with sweet corn/DMS notes, fresh spicy and earthy Noble hops, moderate without being assertive, medium hop bitterness accentuated by the dry finish, balance is slightly to the sweet malt. Light body, moderate carbonation, faint stomach alcohol warmth and no creaminess or astringency. This beer starts out promising but falls short once the sulfur becomes apparent and the flavor and palate are evaluated. The malt sweetness is too much despite the dry finish as it detracts from what could otherwise be a pleasant hop experience.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a pale golden color with a medium creamy head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of husky, grainy notes and a faint metallic note. The taste is pale malty notes, caramel and faint green apple, as well as agrassy hops. Medium bodied.

This beer pours a clear golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, malt and citrus. Medium-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, malt and fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

355ml bottle. Really nice looking packaging. It pours a hazy honey-gold pour wiht a fluffy whit ehead that recedes with thick lacing. The smell is surprisingly on track. HAy, pils malt, honey, and orange marmalade dominate. The flavor is breakfast cereal, nougat, orange marmalade, noble hops. Not bitter, fairly malt but not over the top. It has a sugary flavor but isnít sticky. Not the worst imperial pilsener but I still question what Iím drinking.

Bottle from I forget where. Pours deep gold with 1-finger frothy white head. Nose is nice pale malt, hops, rock syrupy florals. Tastes Prima pilsy, with a crisp Saaz hop element, pale malt, and a slightly syrupy chardonnay undertone, witgh notes of black pepper late. Very good.

Tap at Paradiso Dupont. The pour is a clear gold with a fizzy white head. No head formation really and no retention/lace. Nose is muted: fruity hops and sweet orange perhaps. Taste is citrus hop heavy, orange peel, lemon with mild astringent bitterness. Melons and fruit dominate on a profile that is very IPA like. Palate is full, heavy, bitter, mild buttery biscuit (no diacetyl though)...oily even in the mouthfeel. Pretty intense alcohol presence is slightly masked by the citrus hops. In short, an IPA made with lager yeast. Pilsner gives impressions of grass, sharpness, refreshing spice and Saaz hops. This is not pilsner.
