3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: 12 oz bottle from Normís, 3/25/12
Aroma: The nose has a clean grassy smell, with caramel, some bread, and a little bit of fruit
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a small white head and light lacing
Flavor: The taste has a nice malt sweetness, a crisp grassy hop flavor, and just a hint of booze
Palate: The body is fairly clean and crisp, thereís a hint of heat, and it has a lingering dryness to it
I liked this one. Thereís a little bit of heat from the booze that I could see being an issue, but that didnít overpower the nice crisp Pilner feel for me at all. The grassy hops, the fruity notes, and the malts all worked well, and the beer felt like it achieved the style it was going for.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Crystal clear light copper glowing body with a very thin off-white head on top that fades very fast. Aroma of alcohol, metal, fresh hops, grapefruit, pine and a nice pungent strong scent. Medium-bodied; Assertive orange flavour with some other fruits, deep malt, alcohol, a light hoppy flavour and a lot of metallic notes that taste a bit off. Aftertaste shows some depth, but the metallic notes and strong aftertaste shows too much alcohol and bitterness. Overall, an interesting beer, but not great, still worth trying ,especially for the season. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 23-May-2012 for US$2.49 sampled at home in Upstate New York on 26-May-2012.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Beer, Wine & Co. Hazy orange body with thin head. Nose is grassy, floral and sweet. Taste is also hoppy, and citrus and pine and floral. Quite a nice punch to it. Pretty good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Fairly pronounced aroma of honey. Clear amber, thin head, good lacing. Initially, malty with lime overtones but finishes grassy with a little grain. Not your typical pilsner, or even imperial pilsner, but a damn fine beer. Superb crafting!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cloudy light orange pour from draft at headquarters. Tons of fluffy white head. Orange and lemon aromas. Taste is hoppy and bitter for a pilsner. Grapefruity and earthy taste. Pretty good. Served a little warm

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Almost nose grass in the nose, just sunny pale malt and citrus, perhaps a touch of peel amid the dough and faint yeast. Golden pour with a creamy, rocky white head. Taste is sweet but not cloying, a little closer to neutral, actually, with a bland malt profile that reminds of certain kinds of bland bread. Medium body is creamy and cleansing. Some light caramel and a super nice malty backbone. Really, this could pass for a charged, intense golden ale, but thereís not enough sharp bite or hop presence to qualify as a pils, let alone a special or double. Very noble, though.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear, deep golden color with a smaller, light cream colored head. Pils aromas, but the hops seem a little to earthy. Pale malt and a freshly watered flower scent. Quite sweet from the start. Quite floral and bits of resin. Feel is full, but somehow Iím not satisfied. Perhaps a bit too acidic. 7/10

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz single from Crossroads. Poured a bit thinner than I was expecting, solid clear gold body with a smaller to almost average sized bright white foamy head. Aroma is dusty chalk, green grape skins, dry bread crusts, corn husk. Body once again is a bit thinner than I was expecting, lighter carbonation and a chalky aftertaste, watery overall. Flavor is the same as the aroma. Blah, not bad but when something claims to be Imperial Iím looking for a "Big" beer not just a tiny bit pumped up.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The bottle that I picked up at the Binnyís in Orland Park, IL, labels this as Regal Double Pilsner and, considering the ABV, this should probably be listed under the renamed catch-all category for strong pale lagers. It pours a clear golden body with a modest head that rapidly devolves into a film with a few scattered large bubbles. The aroma is a blend of sweet cereal and floral and grassy hops with some underlying alcohol. The alcohol is more prominent in the flavor, and the hops take on an earthy bitterness. Not too bad, but a bit muddled.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours deep gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Sweet caramel aromas. Medium-bodied with sweet caramel, resin and a sweet hot pine finish.
