3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap Hoppy Monk, EL Paso, TX-pours bright orange with a 1/4 inch soapy and highly carbonated head. nose is mostly sweet metallic notes and not what i was expecting-some light mushy malt and spicy yeast qualities show up but not like i would have wanted them. flavors of sweet pale malt light alcohol and very lite spicy hop presence. some floral aspects show up in the mid palate and alcohol present. Im not too impressed with this beer-too sweet and not dry enough.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sampled at the 2013 Artisans Craft Beer Festival. It poured a golden color with a small white head. The aroma was of grassy and floral hops. The taste was a little sweet and the alcohol was very noticeable. Decent.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Breckenridge. Pours anice enough deep gold with a fizzy head. The nose is quite soapy. Strong cracker pilsner malt notes and some noble hopping that is overshadowed by the soap. On taste, comes across as moderately sweet and fruity, fair level of bitterness, but not quite balanced. Not crisp and kind of a bit bigger than one would like. Meh.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a light gold color with a small, white head. The nose has a slight odd green hop note and a little pale malt. The flavor has a peppery bitterness, off metallic notes, some grain, green apple, green pepper, and alcohol. Medium bodied with low carbonation and an odd bitter and vegetal finish. This brew is a bit of mess.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear medium amber with a bubbly head cover, wide bars of lace. Aroma of malt and floral hops. Taste is full-bodied malt that grows into the palate, yielding only partially to solid citrus hops on the swallow, then cruising through a medium finish. Really good brew. Seems simple, but also has a lot of kick. Recommended.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle from the Sahara Mart in Bloomington, IN. Pours a crystal clear, golden colored body with some orange to it. Finger-width, frothy, white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is grainy pale malts, some nice zesty grass, a few florals, a touch of caramel, and a lightly sweetened cereal maltiness. Flavor is sweet and malty up front before it gives way to a solid grassy, zesty lemon, floral hoppiness. Some sweet oranges in there as well as some honey and sweeter cereal malts. Finishes very dry with a solid mixture of citrus-grass and sweeter malts to give this a light-moderate bitterness and lengthy aftertaste. Light-medium, smooth body and soft, light carbonation. Overall, an above average imperial pils. Has a pretty solid malt backing and hop presence that makes this fairly tasty. Doesn’t quite seem to flow perfectly together, but nonetheless, not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz. bottle. Pours a medium, poorly retained, white head, over a clear gold (SRM 5) body.....nose is Pils malts, light colored fruits (pear, apple), herbal hops......taste is lightly sweet initially,, wilt cereal malts, leading to a mild bitterness.....mouth feel, light of medium body, no alcohol, light acid, slight carbonation. The malts are a bit too prominent, and the beer needs more noble malt presence to meet the Pilsner style. Otherwise it is just a Strong Lager and meets that more incipient style quite easily. BJCP rating is as a Pilsner. BJCP 6/2/10/4/5

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice beer. Aroma was very hoppy. Fresh cut grass and hay. Pour was a beautiful clear light gold color with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was nice and hoppy. Strong bitterness with grain, light malt and grass. Nice bitter finish. Would’ve loved this beer to have more carbonation. That would’ve pulled this beer together perfectly. Never would guess this beer was 7% by the way. Hides the alcohol incredibly.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Typical Pilsner aroma, maybe a bit hoppier though. Clear straw color with a thin head. Taste has a nice Pilsner base with more hops than you would expect. Finishes crisp and clean. Very easy going down.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz. bottle. $3 at Binny’s in January. The pour is deceptively like any other pale lager: yellow fizz under a puffy head. But the yellow is a little deeper, and the bubbles have a little more trouble getting up the glass. A nice malty smell that does not betray any alcohol, and just a little hop. Taste has thick malts, and that’s where the alcohol starts to creep in. Thankfully, though, no alcohol burn, and no adjunct filler to up the amperage. A big puff of foam stays in the glass, daring me to drink around it. I just get some beer bitterness, no distinctive hops. But then, I did let this sit around for several months.
