Nice beer. Aroma was very hoppy. Fresh cut grass and hay. Pour was a beautiful clear light gold color with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was nice and hoppy. Strong bitterness with grain, light malt and grass. Nice bitter finish. Would’ve loved this beer to have more carbonation. That would’ve pulled this beer together perfectly. Never would guess this beer was 7% by the way. Hides the alcohol incredibly.

12oz. bottle. $3 at Binny’s in January. The pour is deceptively like any other pale lager: yellow fizz under a puffy head. But the yellow is a little deeper, and the bubbles have a little more trouble getting up the glass. A nice malty smell that does not betray any alcohol, and just a little hop. Taste has thick malts, and that’s where the alcohol starts to creep in. Thankfully, though, no alcohol burn, and no adjunct filler to up the amperage. A big puff of foam stays in the glass, daring me to drink around it. I just get some beer bitterness, no distinctive hops. But then, I did let this sit around for several months.

Cloudy light orange pour from draft at headquarters. Tons of fluffy white head. Orange and lemon aromas. Taste is hoppy and bitter for a pilsner. Grapefruity and earthy taste. Pretty good. Served a little warm

12oz. bottle. Sweetly malty and lightly hoppy aroma, sugary and lightly spicy, with some lighter herbal, grassy tinges and toasted white bread character. Clear medium golden color with plenty of bubbles and a fine, white head. Flavor profile is sweet and mildly alcoholic to start, turning hoppier about midpoint and featuring some mildly peppery, grassy notes, and finishing with a blend of mild bitterness and lingering crackery malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is fairly thick, nearly syrupy, with a mild degree of effervescence and a medium body. Could use a bit more dryness and a slightly more assertive hop presence. I only purchased the one bottle, which is good, because I think it might be hard for me to finish a sixer of this stuff.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, pepper, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light pine, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, grapefruit, orange zest, pear, pine, cracker, bread, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, grapefruit, orange zest, pear, pine, cracker, bread, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance of malt, hop, and yeast flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice imperial pils. All around well balanced hop, malt, and yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Sampled at the 2013 Artisans Craft Beer Festival. It poured a golden color with a small white head. The aroma was of grassy and floral hops. The taste was a little sweet and the alcohol was very noticeable. Decent.

12oz bottle poured into snifter. Light gold color with very minimal head. Aroma has slight hints of wheat and malt. Flavor is a little bland with small hints of hops. Overall not too bad, but nothing to write home about.

12oz bottle. Pours a rich golden amber, clear, with a medium sudsy white frothy head. Aroma is strong noble hops, lightly cheesy, some rich bready caramel just under, smells pretty nice. Flavor isn’t quite as good, almost a tart rich caramel which overshadows the crispness of the hops, bit sticky on the finish, lightly cheesy, a bit too rich basically syrupy, lots of caramel detracts from the hops, some nice floralness is there though, gritty unclean, alkaline finish. Medium bodied, doesn’t feel that thick in the mouth but leaves a big sticky syrupy feeling after swallowing, the carbonation is okay, big fluffy and sizzling but it fades fast. Can’t ever turn down an Imp Pils.

Draft at Screw City Beer Fest. From Notes. Pours a hazy dark gold with a white head. Aroma and taste of bready and doughy yeast. Citrus and pine hops. Pretty decent, but not super special.
