3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Drink4Satan (666) - Washington, USA - OCT 28, 2011
12oz bottle pours nearly clear deep gold into a tulip. Thick sheets of lacing left with each sip even after the off-white, creamy head fades to a small ring. The nose is similar to a nice helles bock with a tad more hop citrus and grass. The malts come across as lightly toasty and bready, suggesting a sweet flavour to come. Very sweet light malty, bready flavour with pleasant bitterness that is still a bit low for a double pils, and not really very "noble." Some doughy flavours accompany. Tastes more like American variety noble heritage hops were used. Not much heat at all here, but at 7% abv, that makes sense. Tasteful, perceivable amount of DMS lets you know it’s a pilsner without tasting like a corny, cooked veggie bomb. Soft melon/honeydew fruitiness, almost like a Jolly Rancher? Yea, that’s it! The mouthfeel is slick up front, gently carbonated given the style, and full-bodied, almost syrupy in the finish. Very sweet, but enough hops are there to keep it from being cloying.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 jgb9348 (3492) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Crystal clear light copper glowing body with a very thin off-white head on top that fades very fast. Aroma of alcohol, metal, fresh hops, grapefruit, pine and a nice pungent strong scent. Medium-bodied; Assertive orange flavour with some other fruits, deep malt, alcohol, a light hoppy flavour and a lot of metallic notes that taste a bit off. Aftertaste shows some depth, but the metallic notes and strong aftertaste shows too much alcohol and bitterness. Overall, an interesting beer, but not great, still worth trying ,especially for the season. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 23-May-2012 for US$2.49 sampled at home in Upstate New York on 26-May-2012.

Pours a hazy honey color with a thin white head. Aroma has some sweet straw and grassiness...faint citrus and tea. Flavor follows suit...notable sweetness...mild grassiness. Mouthfeel is light/medium and silky with a slightly hoppy bitter finish.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Elwood (1966) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAY 10, 2012
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a light gold color with a small, white head. The nose has a slight odd green hop note and a little pale malt. The flavor has a peppery bitterness, off metallic notes, some grain, green apple, green pepper, and alcohol. Medium bodied with low carbonation and an odd bitter and vegetal finish. This brew is a bit of mess.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Hophead22 (2389) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - APR 18, 2012
12oz bottle. Rating #99. Clear dark gold pour with a white head. Grains and a little sweet on the nose, and a hint of corn. A little metallic up front, sweet grain and mild bitterness. Ok stuff. (2329)
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 guzzler67 (1393) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - APR 18, 2012
Clear, bright gold appearance with a small white head and decent lacing. Grassy aroma beneath the sweet malts. Grainy flavors, offset by summer fruit and followed by herbal and citrus hops. A hint of corn in the aftertaste limits the sensory pleasures on the palate. Overall, though, a more interesting, more complex pils then the run of the mill.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Chipalsa (703) - Florida, USA - APR 6, 2012
Lots of bubbles in this clean yellow body. This brew was a tad metallic in the scent and taste. Sip after sip that dissipates, leaving a solid bready-malt character in which fruity esters come out as well. Very drinkable, only I wish the serving sizes were bigger.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 scooter520 (80) - - APR 5, 2012
Bottle. Appearance: clear gold almost straw color with white fluffy head dissipating quickly. Aroma: cereal, citrus fruit. Taste: bready malt, almost doughy on the front with some citrusy floral notes coming in the middle finishing mildly bitter, a little hoppier pilsner which is how I like them. Mouthfeel: medium body and carbonation, slightly dry finish. Overall: it’s pretty decent pilner. I compare to Victory Prima and it doesn’t quite get there, but it’s still a solid beer.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ben4321 (2220) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAR 25, 2012
Location: 12 oz bottle from Norm’s, 3/25/12
Aroma: The nose has a clean grassy smell, with caramel, some bread, and a little bit of fruit
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a small white head and light lacing
Flavor: The taste has a nice malt sweetness, a crisp grassy hop flavor, and just a hint of booze
Palate: The body is fairly clean and crisp, there’s a hint of heat, and it has a lingering dryness to it
Overall Impression:
I liked this one. There’s a little bit of heat from the booze that I could see being an issue, but that didn’t overpower the nice crisp Pilner feel for me at all. The grassy hops, the fruity notes, and the malts all worked well, and the beer felt like it achieved the style it was going for.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 alexanderj (2851) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAR 9, 2012
Bottlep poured a clear amber.bold with a smallish whitish head. Aroma of sugar, bread, fruit, caramel, vanill and earth in the finish. Nice aroma. For the style, the flavor seemed pretty spot on. Alot of earthiness, alcohol and bready malt. Not really heavy handed in any regard. Quite nice.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 glennmastrange (1636) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2012
Bottle. Moderate malt note of grain, light to moderate herbs for the hops, with hints of wood, honey, and peppery arugula. Head is small, fizzy/frothy, white with fair lacing and is almost fully diminshing. Color is slightly hazy yet sparkling light amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, a little slick with a fizzy carbonation and a lightly alcoholic and drying finish. It’s a nice tasting beer, but a little weak as an Imperial Pilsener.
