A good stout and it’s nice to be back into the dark beers with the recent weather changes in Texas. A good roasty, burnt and malty flavor. No hints of bell pepper that sometimes hit me wrong in bad stouts.

On nitro at the Ballpark brewpub, this is essentially the oatmeal stout on nitro and it is beautiful and tasty. Creamy with some roast and some nice chocolate notes. Enjoyable!!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught. Dark brownish black pour with a medium dark tan head. Aroma of oatmeal and roasted malt. Slightly thin mouthfeel with a faint dry finish. Surprisingly refreshing but not much depth or complexity.

Pint @ Flying Saucer in Austin. Looks like a Guinness with a darker, tanner head and more aggressive, darker lacing. Feels smooth like a Guinness but it is much more flavorful, with notes of chocolate, oats and smoked meats. Real good dry stout.

Nitro at Flying Saucer Sugar Land. Dark brown or black with a big, creamy, beige head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted coffee. Taste is semi-sweet stout- roasted and just a little sweet. Medium-full bodied, fluffy and smooth.

This one of my favorite beers. Great taste and full bodied. There is a slight sourness to this brew that I just can't resist.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nitro at Breckenridge. Pours a deep brown with a tan head, cascade, blah blah blah. Pretty generic appearance. Nose is faint hops, nice level of roast and chocolate, but difficult to discern due to the nitro head. On tasting, nice dryness, creamy palate. Good bitterness and a nice chocolate profile. Pretty decent stout overall. Could use more roast and robustness.

Nitro @ Denver location. Black appearance with a creamy, light brown head. Roasty dark malty, chocolate, lightly nutty, light espresso aroma. Soft, creamy mouth feel. Quite roasty, dark chocolate malty, somewhat bitter, espresso flavor. Ok.

On tap at Breckenridge Blake St. . Poured a deep black color with a medium creamy tan head. Big roasty aroma, with notes of dark malts and coffee, with a touch of chocolate. Tastes of roasty malts, coffee, and bitter chocolate, with touches of figs and smoke. Nice full body, creamy nitro feel.

On nitro draft at the ballpark brewpub. Pour is fine bubbled, khaki, as you’d expect from a nitro tap. Cola brown with a hint of amber; its tough to get past the head on this one; anyway, the nose is cream, obviously, and sweet caramel, and a hint of cocoa. The flavor profile has a bitterness from the hop profile, a light smoked element, cocoa, and a bit of grain from the oatmeal. Its a nice drinker, actually.
