1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Black with great head. A great pour of a beer, compliments to the brewpub. Very watery. Taste is too much like coffee for me. Too much aftertaste. Reminds me of a porter not a stout. My wife loves it and won’t stop talking about it.

nitro pour, well, it smells like something on nitro, light cocoa comes through. a nice looking beer. dark in color with the white head playing well against the dark body. the beer version of cookies and cream ice cream and folgers coffee, but watered down so just the astruingent coffee note lingers. but it does have a nice balance between the sugary cream and and bitter coffee with a bit of dry cocoa lingering.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Lasting beige head, dark cola coloured hue. Hazelnutty malts procure a dark chocolate feel that leafy hops somehow passes easily. Interesting, if mellow, developing date, anise, cigar and cola notes take form among the evolving roastiness, but everything is too subtle and there’s a bit too much tartness to my tastes..

The final beer in my tasting round. The head was still there after an hour! Amazing. Lighter body than other stouts I’m used to. Marvelous bitterness with loads of grapefruit. Smooth roasted flavor with a goodly amount of hops. Delightful.
