2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Lasting beige head, dark cola coloured hue. Hazelnutty malts procure a dark chocolate feel that leafy hops somehow passes easily. Interesting, if mellow, developing date, anise, cigar and cola notes take form among the evolving roastiness, but everything is too subtle and there’s a bit too much tartness to my tastes..

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The final beer in my tasting round. The head was still there after an hour! Amazing. Lighter body than other stouts I’m used to. Marvelous bitterness with loads of grapefruit. Smooth roasted flavor with a goodly amount of hops. Delightful.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Another one from the brewery. Pours black as night, with almost no head and some tan lacing around the sides of the glass. This one would go really well on a day that you are out in the backyard grilling. Slightly oily, with a burnt kind of day old coffee taste and very full-bodied. Worth a try.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(draught) Pitch-black; greige dense head. Burnt/roasted barley, sulphury nose. Taste is meaty, yeasty and roasted barley. Soy sauce Japanese style, but less salty. Fleeting glimpse of buckwheat-flour. Full-bodied, on the verge of oily. OK Stout. Looks are more Guinness-like than the taste - well, OK.
