3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub. On 2 Feb 2013. Black color with nice thick tan foam sitting on the surface. Aroma is very burnt coffee grounds, bitter chocolate and a faint hop. I was told this was a low ABV stout, if that is so then it has nice flavor. Brunt malts, chocolate with caramel. The nitro pour does give it a nice creamy texture. Overall good but not amazing.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Deep dark brown pour with a thick creamy light beige head. Weak aroma of bittersweet dark chocolate. Medium/thin body with a too-balanced dark malt tone that doesn’t have any sweetness or chocolatiness. Just generic dark malt smoothness.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nitro tap - pours dark brown with creamy Tan head. Smells of coffee and cooked sugar. Initial taste is off-putting a slight sour astringency. This mellows by mid sip and disappears leaving clean dry finish of nothing but roasted malt.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma: Faint hints of chocolate and coffee, but you almost have to stick your nose in the beer to get them.
Appearance: Dark mahogany with rich tan head.
Taste: Light sweetness throughout, with a bitter finish at the end.
Palate: Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, dry finish.
Overall: Very thin and underdeveloped. Not really a good offering at all.

Julie says that it is a little toaster than she likes. It has a nice creamy smoothness that can overcome the toast overall she gives a 3

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a gorgeous very dark brown with a perpetual, flat, creamy, one-finger, smooth head. Unassuming nose. Smooth as silk. It’s a little cold, so the flavors don’t emerge properly. After the beer finishes, smokiness and plastic and a little caramel.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nitro pour...a better guiness. Light bodied, smooth and sweet. Dry finish. Was a little acidic/tart, and that didn’t go with the style. Other than this, very enjoyable.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
On nitro. Probably for the best, as the flavor is pretty bland and mild, like American Guinness. Not much going on here.

Out of the tap at the Ale House in Denver. Looks fantastic with a thick, fine frothy head. Hints of chocolate. Clean after taste. Not too heavy.
