COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Bottle shared with Ariel at Beer Market Jaffa. BBOTM. Very dark ruby color. Sweet aroma of chocolate, vanilla and light roastiness. Sweet flavor, slightly roasty, with chocolate, nutty notes and lots of vanilla. Medium-bodied. Nice and easy drinking. Thought it was just OK at first, but it grew on me as I drank more.

12 oz bottle: Appearance is dark brown with minimal brown head. Aroma is of roasted malt and vanilla. Taste is of roasted malt without much mouthfeel, not heavy as I expect a porter to be along with some vanilla flavoring.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2013 Color is dark brown with a slight red tint. Head is thick but quickly dissipating, leaving a creamed coffee lacing. Flavor is light and disapointingly simple. Mostly a black coffee flavor, with a slight hint of vanilla. Finish is a bit better, some roasty nutty flavors coming through, and a bit of chocholate and vanilla. Not a bad beer. I was hoping for something a bit heavier.

12oz bottle poured into a tumbler glass. Clear Dark brown with nice red hues and a small dark beige head. Cocoa nose, with vanilla, mild roast and faint grassy hops. Full chocolate flavor, dark caramelized nuts, vanilla, mild bitterness and faint roast. Creamy, pleasant, lacks some bitterness but overall enjoyable.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Lagunitas mason jar From: Bine & Bottle Shop in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif. Price: $1.99 Purchased: March 28, 2013 Consumed: April 5, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a brownish-black (more black) color with two fingers of khaki tan lacing that dissipated rather quickly. Average lacing on the sides. Minimal retention. Smelled roasty nuts, toffee, caramel, vanilla bean ice cream, faint bitter coffee beans, milk, chocolate and faint smoky fire. Tasted surprisingly stronger than the smell. My first thought was Nesquick chocolate milk. Also cocoa, milk, vanilla, faint bitter coffee beans and still that light smoky fire. Medium body. Creamy texture. Soft (below average) carbonation. Slightly bitter, but still smooth finish. A pretty good porter overall. I’d definitely have it again. Not as much vanilla as I would have thought, more of a chocolate milk taste, but it gets the job done.

Pours a fairly dark brown, with a tan head. Aroma is vanilla and malt. Tastes is slightly sweet, with notes of vanilla, chocolate, and malts. Very smooth and wonderfully drinkable. This was from a six pack I bought in Phoenix, and really enjoyed. Thumbs way up!.

Pours dark amber/brown, almost black. Tan, foamy head with moderate lacing. Solid aroma; strong vanilla with hint of chocolate. Pallate is foamy, silky. Taste of chocolate on the front, bitter in the middle, gets drier at vanilla end.
