Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

A nice vanilla porter. Pours a brown-black with very little head. Smells of vanilla and cinnamon. Taste has a lot of vanilla, starts smooth, with a sweet middle. Not the most interesting, but nice overall. Had in the bottle in Vermont.

While the nitro makes for an overall smooth experience, the aroma and taste. are lacking. Very sweet vanilla nose, and creamy mouth feel, however.porter notes are completely lost.

An interesting beer to try! I thought it would be too sweet but it turns out to have quite a good balance! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mahogany color. Roasty, earthy, vanilla aroma and flavor. Medium to light in body. Nice flavorful porter a little on the sweeter side with the vanilla. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark liquid with a small but persistent beige head. Mainly vanilla smell, backed up by smoked malt. Great vanilla taste, well balanced, round, not very roasted / smoked. Goes down very well.Too straight forward on vanilla.

Transfer from BA review on 6-15-12- Served in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – Served a very deep brown nearly black color with a thin off white head. The head faded fast to give a light amount of lacing. Smell – The smell was largely of roasted malt with a lighter ccoffee, nutty, and cocoa aromas. Mixed with these is a nice strong vanilla smell. Taste – The taste begins largely of roasted malt with a lighter coffee flavor. Towards the middle, flavors of a light sweet caramel and some vanilla work their way into the flavor profile. The vanilla intensifies as the taste advances from the middle giving a rather strong flavor at the end. At the very end a bitter nutty flavor mixes with the bready roast vanilla flavor leaving a somewhat off bitter roasted flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The creaminess of the body is only slightly above average with a carbonation level that is just below average. The carbonation is very good for the more roasted malt and sweet vanilla flavors, but the body is a little thinner then would be desired. Overall – It had some nice roasty and vanilla flavors, but left a somewhat more bitter flavor on the tongue at the end due to the nuttiness that came in. Good, but nothing I would really go to on a high occasion.

On draft. Silky pitch black with one fingers worth of off-white foam. Aromas of soft barely noticable vanilla and roast coffee. Taste is smooth with mild chocolate and coffee notes and minimal vanilla. Clean mouthfeel. Very underwhelming.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent mahogany brown color. Medium-sized creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma has notes of tobacco and cola. Rich malt flavor has a velvety mouthfeel. Subtle notes of caramel and vanilla. In mid-taste. Finish is creamy and rich with notes of raisins and vanilla. Pleasant and very drinkable.

Ok to get the flavor to really peak don't drink it so cold! I made that amateur mistake! All I have to say it reminds me of an A&W cream soda ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
