Nearly opaque very dark rusty brown with fine, creamy khaki head and very good lacing.
Aroma of vanilla extract, banana and sweet dark malt. Not very complex or intriguing.
Taste of sweet dark malt, vanilla, milk chocolate and a sweet iced coffee drink.
Medium body and low/medium carbonation.

A long running brew, this one sets a solid standard for Vanilla Porters. Rich and dark, but not too heavy.... it’s easy to drink. This is a good style for the cold months.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 maslupulos (39) - North Carolina, USA - MAR 4, 2013
Pours deep brown with plenty of tan head. Smells of cocoa nibs, roasted malt, and of course vanilla. Not a completely pungent vanilla taste, actually a good bit of smoke, roast, and hop to balance things out. Definitely a sweet beer, but not in an annoying way. Not bad at all.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 sailracer (301) - Massachusetts, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Tap. Pours a deep chocolate with a fine head that lingers. Vanilla flavor is very apparent, which I thought was good, but the porter was too sticky and sweet which made it hard to drink. I think this would have been better at a higher alcohol level and served in a smaller glass.
2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Bikeman53 (27) - - FEB 27, 2013
Pours with a slight head. Pretty smooth due to being a little watered down but overall a decent beer.

Bottle. Pours dark with slight head. Pretty creamy and smooth though a bit thin and watery. Roasted and toasty with only slight hint of vanilla. OK but not the best vanilla porter out there.

Very dark looking, but doesn’t taste as dark as it looks. Very smooth to drink and a very good vanilla flavor behind it but isn’t over powering the beer itself.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 crazyvin (1692) - New York, USA - FEB 17, 2013
More of a deep amber body than brown. A fast fading tan head. Aroma had a strong vanilla note upfront, a nice balance of roasted coffee and mild chocolate. Flavor seemed to be dominated by vanilla, some mild wood notes seemed interesting. It need more of a roasted malt presence to cut through the vanilla. Kind of light on the palate.
