The aroma is god awful. It’s like true vanilla extract gone sour. The pour is amber and has a small white head. Great taste. Even better after taste. Vanilla hints shine through afterwards. Not too sweet.. But satisfying.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle: deep maroon & brown color with some sienna around the edges; a head somewhere between khaki & mocha sits on top and slowly descends to a chunky film & collar. Aroma contains a slight bit of roasted malt & sweet, milk chocolate with a heavy presence of vanilla. Smells like liquid vanilla extract, despite the bottle claiming the vanilla beans are from New Guinea & Madagascar. Smells too sweet and a little to concentrated & dense. Taste gives the same impression with lots of vanilla sweetness up-front, seemingly extract-like; dense in presence. Mild roasted malts, nuts, & cocoa underneath, but the vanilla steals the show here. Thin mouth feel for a porter. I don’t absolutely hate this beer, mainly because I still do somewhat enjoy vanilla extract... It’s just a little too much here. Comes off as cheap.

A creamy and smooth porter. Almost a dessert beer. The vanilla adds a sweetness to it but it’s hard to drink more than one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft a the brewpub. Pours a reddish brownish beer with a medium small, beige head on top. Aroma is heavily vanilla and sugary. Like snuffing vanilla ice cream. Flavour is medium sweet, vanilla returns in the back mostly. Overal watery mouthfeel, low abv so excuse taken this one. Nice brew, loving the vanilla.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the Brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is creamy roasted malt with vanilla. The flavour is medium bitter with a huge watery vanilla malty liqourice palate. I like vanilla very much but this was a little overpowering.

Nothing too special...a little light on noticeable vanilla. Surprisingly smooth, and a pleasant drinker - but like I said..nothing special.
