COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

12 oz bottle. Poured a clear mahogany with a thin tan top, little to no lacing. Taste of vanilla, slight roasted malt, slight chocolate milk. Medium carbonation, medium body. Overall nothing special.

Appearance: a very dark maroon color that looks black unless light is shining thru it, beer is clear, pours with a small light tan head that fades quickly Aroma: vanilla, dark roast coffee, pretty faint Taste: coffee of course, a pretty assertive vanilla flavor is nicely added on top Palate: moderate mouthfeel, soft carbonation, slight coffee aftertaste Overall: i like the vanilla in there, pretty simple flavor, not a bad porter

Pours dark brown. Aromas of hazelnut, and slight burnt sugar. The taste is creamy vanilla up front with a bitter syrupy middle, and sharp clean aftertaste. The palate has a thin body and pretty high carbonation. Decent but, lacking overall composition.

A welcoming armoma meets with a smooth taste. The vanilla flavor is more evident in the finish. Delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very smooth and creamy, and has great vanilla start to the taste, but then finishes tasting similar to Labatt Blue. Could have been great, but ends up kinda boring.

Draft at the Breckenridge brew pub. Pours dark brown with a thin, creamy beige head and lots of lacing. Tastes sweet, creamy, like chocolate, syrup, brownies, coffee, and mild booze. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like cocoa, syrup, and alcohol.

Pours dark with a white to light tan head. Aroma of vanilla with flavors of vanilla and chocolate.

Bottle - Pours cola-colored with a huge foamy root beer float head. Nose is really metallic--really just a metal smell with a bit of vanilla and chocolate roast trying to peek through. Taste is much better--pungent vanilla, a little milky with nutty chocolate and a bit of lightly roasted dark malt. Fairly thin body, but real velvety with smooth carbonation. If this had a decent smell this would have been awesome.

Smooth. Not a lot of vanilla though and kind of disappointing that there's not much vanilla. Decent porter

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2014 One of the better vanilla porters that I’ve had. The vanilla adds a smooth, rich flavor and a spicy aroma. It’s not too bold nor too shy. In fact, I’d say that the distribution of vanilla and malt is just about perfect. On the whole, it’s not really a special porter, but it has its moments.
