COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted/burnt grain, chocolate), with notes of buttered popcorn and vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. If you like to have a little vanilla flavor with your diacetyl, this one is the ticket.

Extremely disappointed with this beer. It looks like it would be good, but it is extremely bland. It reminds me of brown water (extremely thin) with a slight hint of vanilla. I don’t even know what to say about this beer, but I advise against it. Terrible.

A somewhat typical porter, but with a strong taste of vanilla. The vanilla gives this beer an interesting taste and a nice aroma.

Had it on tap. Pours dark brown-almost black, the head was unsubstantial, on the tongue it sweet and malty with hints of vanilla that could have been stronger. A pretty full body and relatively creamy. Overall, it seemed like a beer drinkers Root Beer. Easy to drink, not too complex, and satisfying.

Not as complex as many porters, but has its own unique flavor. This is the closest I’ve had to desert in beer form.

Nutty, caramel aroma coming from this red ale. The creamy foam slithers down to a thin head and leaves a nice lacing on the glass. Bready flavor has a definite vanilla taste. Nuts and chocolate are also noticeable. Good carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Overall I would say this is a tasty treat.
