3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aromas of vanilla bean, coffee, subtle cocoa, and nutty tones. Dark brown with a lasting, tan head. Somewhat sweet, cream soda flavors, with dry, roasty tones providing balance. Medium bodied with average carbonation, and a mellow finish with tones of vanilla, cocoa, and coffee.

Looks like a cola with a creamy beige head, decent retention and nice thick creamy lace. Mild chocolate malt with hints of vanilla. The taste is sweet and nutty with the light vanilla that is real. Suttle is the vanilla in this one, not overpowering the porter and not being heavy on the stomach.

I like the body on this porter. The aroma is toasty and vanilla, and the taste is also toasty with a great smooth body and leaves a good mouth feel but still light like a porter.

Bottled at Devil’s Den - a great porter. Nice color and flavor - exactly what a good porter tastes like - very nice!

A nice mellow porter with a sweet roundness. Subtle notes... Blah blah blah. Words

Pours black with a nice off white head. Has hints of coffee and chocolate. A very smooth and creamy taste with notes of vanilla that make this one of my favorite porters.

Bottle, draft. Not sure how I missed this one. Black pour with tan head. Vanilla dominated the aroma. Flavor is vanilla forward, some light roasted tones and chocolate hints follow.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I’m not sure how to rate this. I tried this on tap at a local pub and it was served cold, as if it were a lager. Frustrating. I really didn’t have time to let it warm to room temperature. It was an easy going and smooth porter. I noticed very faint amounts of vanilla in the nose and finish.

The aroma is weak but some notes of roasted malt are perceptible. The texture is sweet and buttery. The taste of the beer is well balanced and the vanilla adds a delicious spice to the flavor. Well done.
