Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Bottled. Pours amber brown with quickly receding tan head. Aroma is mellow and smooth with hint of chocolate, but with a bit of mustiness, sort of like a wet dog. Flavor is slightly tart fruit with mild bitterness, finishing with a little roast malt. Watery mouthfeel, light bodied. Lacks complexity and is quite malt-poor for a porter. Didn’t notice any vanilla. Forgettable brew.

Smooth and flavorful. Always an easy choice. Good vanilla light porter, easy drinking when you want a dark beer you can drink all night.

Pours a rich dark coffee bean color, but thinly tasting for a porter. Hint of vanilla on first taste but something drier and sharper. Pepper perhaps? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Decent porter with strong coffee and chocolate flavors but lacking some vanilla. Overall a great beer, but since it is advertised as being vanilla, I would expect more vanilla.

I poured it from a bottle to a pint glass and it was purchased in Denver, CO. Typical Vanilla Porter I Guess. I like Dry Docks better to be honest wit you. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
