Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Breweryís Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

I did not like this one much at all. It is fairly sweet, lacks bitterness, and is dark in color but has only a weak roast in the aroma. The vanilla combined with the sweetness makes it taste a lot more like cream soda than a typical beer. Pretty disappointing. I love vanilla when itís paired with a drier beer, or a richer, more bitter and complex beer, but this one was just too simple and sweet, and too much like a soft drink.

Nothing remarkable here. Actually pretty forgettable. Has the classic porter flavor with a presence of vanilla. On the light side for me with a lack luster aroma and pour.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Transparent brown, beige head faded quickly, but left some decent lacing. Aroma of vanilla and some lightly roasted malts. This is a little sweeter than it should be IMHO. Nice vanilla finish. This is a pretty light, thin beer, average carbonation. This was from a "craft your own 6 pack" from the local beer store. Not sure what the price usually is, but if itís comparable to Leinieís Vanilla Porter itís Okay.

Pours a brown color with a white foam head. Aroma is light vanilla and caramel malts. Flavor is sweet vanilla with a touch of bitterness in the finish. This beer is pretty much all vanilla, and I like it.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into nonic pint glass, a clear dark reddish brown colour with weak beige foam and some lace. Aromas of sweet grains, strong vanilla, nice earthy English-style hop impression. Flavours: toasty, slight tartness, black pepper, charred wood, strong vanilla again giving it a root beer soda taste. Lighter body than expected, slight residual sweetness, medium carbonation. Good, easy-drinking, too much vanilla personally, but I can see why itís so popular.

Eh. Dark brown pour. Roasted malts, nuttiness, sweetness in the aroma. Taste is pretty sweet upfront.Vanilla is in there, but subtle and almost sour/tangy tasting. Bitter finish. Creamy mouthfeel over all.

Poured from bottle into downhill beer transport device (glass mug with handle) while watching womens downhill ski racing on tv out of Colorado with tons of snow piling up outside the window. Aroma: caramel Appearance: dark with hints of red in the corners, nice tan head Taste: smooth, coffee ice cream flavor. Not roasted/smoked like some porters. Not a lot of vanilla for me, but yummy nontheless, slight bitter/caramel finish, Palate: smooth and slightly creamy. Beer #3 out of 6 from my mixed-porter 6 pack taste test. My favorite so far.
