COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who would have thought deep in the jungles of Papua New Guinea and Madagascar grew the perfect ingredient to build an extraordinary Porter in Colorado? An ale that has all the chocolate and roasted nut flavor of a classic Porter, with an enigmatic surprise thrown in for good measure, real vanilla bean. Breckenridge Brewery’s Vanilla Porter. A vanilla kiss in a rich, dark sea.

Just misses. Pours like a porter should, thinner than you think in mouthfeel, with just a hint of vanilla. Not quite better than average.

I think this is an excellent porter. It has a taste of vanilla and chocolate with a hint of coffee, and it feels and taste good on the palate. This will not the first time I purchase this beverage, and it’s easy on the wallet too.

Tasted in Breckenridge (go figure). Tasted in shaker. About half an inch white head. Not pitch black, black-reddish tinge. Aroma of vanilla and coffee - roasted malt. Tastes of roasted malt with a finish of vanilla and a slightly sour after taste. Overall not bad however I was hoping for something bigger and bolder.

Dark brown color, slightly tan and quickly dissipating head - Aroma: roasted malt, discreet aroma of coffee, chocolate and toffee. Vanilla aroma becomes prominent towards the otherwise a bit watery finish - Taste is medium sweet and slightly bitter - Medium to full body, creamy and soft mouthfeel, rather soft carbonation.

Nice porter. Smooth. Great color, average aroma and overall taste for a vanilla porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear dark reddish brown, but not opaque. Has a decent off white head. Aroma is nutty and caramely. Taste is sweet roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and a bit of coffee bitterness. Pretty good brew.

Pours dark brown with a thin creamy head, typical of porters. Immediate chocolate/coffee notes with a very light vanilla after taste. I like the lightness of the vanilla taste. It tastes natural and not overdone or fake. Overall good porter.

Nuts and strong scent of chocolate are present upon first whiff. Right away, you can tell that it’s a porter with flavor. Pours much like any other porter, minimal creamy head. A chocolate porter upon first sip, but a nice hint of vanilla follows in the aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a one-inch ivory head that dissipates to a thin film. Aromas of dark fruit, coffee and chocolate. Flavors are gypsum, coffee, and plum. Vanilla and licorice in the finish. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Not great, but not bad.
